When you arrive, someone always manages to greet you or acknowledge you. It makes you feel like a regular! Ordered our breakfast and even though it was hectic they made sure to bring it over instead of counter pickup. Old town service and atmosphere that you always want

Stopped here for lunch, high reviews seemed promising and prices indicated a quality establishment. Ended up being one of the worst cafe experiences we've had.
Started out ok, staff at ordering counter was pleasant.
All the tables were full when we arrived at a busy time of the day, nevertheless one table was occupied by the manager's personal things and she wasn't using it. When we asked about seating, staff suggested we can eat downstairs in the basement area that had some tables. We went downstairs but didn't stay, as it looked like a messy storage area that included a random old toilet sitting close by and didn't feel comfortable eating there. So we waited for a table in the regular eating area.
When drinks came, we found that tea was the cheapest brand bag tea - Rose, which would be ok if they did not charge so much. Coffee was also the worst we've had in regular visits to the area.
Then food came - the portions are generous, but lettuce was literally rotten, way past its prime, there is no way it is acceptable to serve such lettuce. Beets were the lowest quality I have ever experienced (possibly canned), with no flavour at all.
Prices are very high for both beverages and food, which we would have been fine with if the quality corresponded. It seems that they are charging premium prices but using the cheapest ingredients possible for their food and drinks.
But the most serious concern overall is that the place is clearly poorly kept and not hygienic. Wish we saw this before ordering, having worked in several restaurants we know this means inadequate cleaning and hygiene practices. The open kitchen was a mess and bathrooms were dirty, with bins overflowing - added to the old toilet in the basement food hall that you would walk by to get to the bathroom.
Felt horrible about the whole experience, we don't recommend.
