What a fabulous find! Another gem in Meaford. The food was delicious. Fresh and flavorful. The burger was perfection, as was the eggplant parmesan. The wait staff was a delight, and even though it was busy, she made our visit personable and special. We look forward to returning!

Sheardown's is a lovely, quiet, small little restaurant in downtown Meaford, Ontario. Mum and I had just finished wandering the outdoor Christmas market and were looking for a place to sit, have something warm to drink and a light lunch. We had seen the two pubs across from the market and thought one of them would be fine - but they were both very busy so we ambled down the Main Street looking in the windows and found Sheardown's. I wasn't sure it was open but I am sure glad I stopped in to check it out. The two door "entrance" was a tad confusing but once we got in, it was perfect to me. There are two areas - the wine bar, is the first area you see when you walk in, with comfy seating at the front, a bar and a couple of live-edge tables. At the end of the bar area is an opening to the restaurant itself. A handful of tables, some funky art work and staff that are very happy to help you!! Single page menu, single page drink menu - and thank goodness for that I didn't have a 5 page book to look at! The menu was relatively simple with Vegan adaptations and both Mum and I chose the Apple and Brie sandwich with fries and a few greens. OMG, I died and went to heave when I bite into this sandwich. It was a fancy grilled cheese but so much better. I thought it was a weird idea but it was absolutely delicious, a 10 out of 10, crispy, cheesy and appley. The fries were crisp and the little "salad" that complimented the sandwich perfectly. The server came to check on us a few times, she was lovely, and I told her that was the best surprise ever - grilled brie and apple!! If you are ever in Meaford, stop in at Sheardown's, the coffee is hot, the place is calm and quiet and you won't regret any of your food choices (I don't think). This was a jewel of a restaurant!! Thank you for a fabulous lunch!!!!

A nice place to have a nice meal. I had the pumpkin risotto and the serving was quite large. We started with the mussels that came in a nice tasting cream sauce with bread for dipping. The trout was served with rice and squash. My husband thought it was okay. I had a double down beer that was half cider and half beer. Very tasty if you like fruity beer.Overall a good place to eat... Slightly pricey

Visited on a beautiful Saturday for lunch. There's a lovely patio with umbrellas. The staff and owner are friendly and have great suggestions. We had the grilled apple and brie sandwich, home cut fries, and a Fall salad. All excellent. Very focused on local food and drinks. Great spot.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options.

Friendly staff, exquisite food and a beautiful atmosphere. Reccomend the fettuccine and the Applewood smoked ribs. Stop by for dinner if you're in the area.

This evening we went to a wonderful restaurant to round out a fabulous week in Meaford. The interior is colorful and features modern art on the walls for sale. The food matches the modern but warm flare. There were three in our party. To start off we had a half karaf of their special Sangria made with fresh picked local blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries. Next we shared the Snack Platter that included a variety of fresh raw vegetables, home made pita bread, and portions of guacamole, hummus, olive tapenade, and a white bean spinach dip. We also had the Flatbread with a butternut squash base, caramelized onion, apples, cheese, and arugula with a balsamic vinaigrette.Next for our main dishes I had the heaping helping of stir fry udon noodles with a sesame ginger soy sauce and a variety of vegetables. My colleagues had the house made fettuccine pasta with chicken in a pesto cream sauce, broccoli, confit garlic, and charred cherry tomatoes; and finally the AAA Flat Iron Steak that was cooked medium rare on baby arugula greens, chummy churri vinaigrette, with caramelized onion and blue cheese crumbles. All were excellent. Then somehow we had the strawberry crumble with a scoop of oat milk ice cream. Quite full after this culinary adventure. Great service by Heather and a fantastic meal from Chef Christina. Highly recommend!
