The Garage offers a great vibe, friendly service, and delicious broasted chicken and perch. It is kid-friendly with high chairs and boosters available, making it a comfortable and cozy place for family dinners. The atmosphere is relaxing and easy-going, perfect for returning visits with grandparents or anyone else. The staff is super friendly, and the food is consistently excellent.
Recently, the owners, Mike and Kim Palin, went above and beyond to help a customer who lost a phone at the restaurant. Their quick response and willingness to deliver the phone was greatly appreciated. While the food is good and reasonably priced, some guests have noted that it can be noisy due to louder background music, which can make conversation difficult.
The Garage is a popular choice and worth the drive to Merlin, known for its proximity to local attractions, including the Buxton Speedway, where thrilling races occur on Saturday nights. The restaurant has been serving the community since 2007 and is built on the old Cargill Mill site. One of their most popular Saturday Specials is the Froglegs Meal Set of Five Backlegs for $20.25, marinated in tangy brine and said to taste like chicken. Guests should also try their Cherry Dessert Pizza, adding to the restaurant's delightful offerings.
