This is a little gem of a place for fresh cut fries so you know the Poutine is gonna be good , and it is with the bonus that the varied toppings are do delicious. Oh yeah and their homemade burger , yup handmade burgers are delicious too !

This is a great little diner. Friendly staff and the food was great. We had bacon cheeseburgers and club sandwiches with fries and gravy. They onion rings were very good as well. Highly recommended!

Weirdest food experience ever! Unfortunately never got to try the food. After asking for a couple substitutions on my burger I was told by the guy on the grill that the burgers come how they come and he wants to keep it that way. He said one time only he would let me substitute the Swiss cheese for cheddar but nothing else. I told him I thought that was a weird policy to have at a diner and he then got visibly irritated and became very passive aggressive in his responses to me. At that point I felt very uncomfortable and decided to take my business elsewhere. I’ve never had an experience like that in a restaurant ever! He must have been having a really bad day, hopefully things got better for him, man was he grumpy!

Just went into Jays dinner on kings street as I walked in he asked me what I wanted hang on I have to wash my hands because I had diesel on them then I ordered my toasted western when I was leaving the owner told me next time order your food and pay make sure you do it next time I looked at him and told jay i presume there will never be a next time the western was ok

First time trying Jays Diner today. Got the chicken bacon Caesar poutine and a regular poutine. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge. Service was excellent. Will be back again soon!

I had a poutine. The fries were crispy and soft inside, the gravy was thick and luxurious, and the cheese was perfect proportions, whilst being layered within the fries as opposed to just dropped on top.
Best I've had since visiting Quebec. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

I asked specifically if the sausage on a bun was an actual sausage or a large spicey hotdog type sausage he said it's an actul sausage. it was a very chewy large hotdog type uck. fries were great.

I visited Burger barr a number of times and Jay has kept all the great items they had previously.
