We tried Halibut House on a Saturday, mid afternoon. The place is open and spacious but to be honest feels more like a warehouse with the tall ceilings than a restaurant. Both of us had the cod and it was quite good and a generous portion. Service left a lot to de desired. Non attentive and no enthusiasm what so ever. There was only a few other people in the restaurant so I am not sure what was going on. I think we would consider it for take out but I doubt if we would dine in again.

New restaurant , very clean and not very busy. Ordered grilled fish with one salad for her and mixed veg for me. Received about 3 oz of fish, a plate of lettuce and boiled frozen veg. Not very tasty and very expensive for what we ordered Have friends who thought the food was great but they ordered battered fried fish with French fries--not very healthy meal

Sunday the 26Sept2021, at 1125 am four of us attended the Halibut House for Sunday breakfast at 1215 pm we finally got the waitress attention and told her we had not ordered yet. She took our order right away and apologized for the error which we excepted as she was the only waitress doing anything. There was one other who had brought us coffee but then overlooked us. We then waited til 105 pm and finally got our orders which was ok but not very hot. We all ordered breakfast. When we had finished it took till 130 to finally get our bill so we could pay . Two hours for breakfast is way too long and a waste of our time. Halibut house needs employees and owners who know what they are doing. These owners have no clue !

Ordered the codfish fish and chips (x5) with coleslaw and a side of calamari. The fish was properly cooked, a little oily and the batter was thick on the ends of the fillet. Condiments were plentiful to include tartar sauce, vinegar, catsup. The calamari was the shocker, expertly deep fried and every morsel soft and not rubbery. Paired well with an ale.

Got halibut house as takeout! Got halibut and chips and both parts were great! Halibut is flatter than the average fish place but overall way bigger and had great flavour (not fishy fish tasting) and had crispy batter! They give you more fries than you could ever eat!!

This is a newly opened restaurant. The does have Covid -19 protocols in place. The place is nice and clean. We found the meal hot in fact you got to be carefully that you do not burn your mouth. Our biggest complaint is the speed . It takes almost a 25min for two egg breakfast's. The place only had ten people in at the time we were there and half of the tables were eating. However as I said when you get your meal it is hot and just made. So I am willing to wait the extra time for a meal I know was not waiting under a warming light. Overall I would recommend just make sure you have lots to talk about while you wait.

My daughter and two grandchildren went for breakfast. Waited 20 minutes to order food. Home fries were exceptionally greasy. My daughter ordered scrambled eggs and I a toasted western. The eggs were the pourable kind and, again, very greasy and not the least bit appealing. Sausages were also deep fried and greasy. The only redeeming quality for this restaurant were the kids pancakes. Will not be returning!

Lunch out with work mates so we ordered take out. Staff were friendly. Wed special was cod and chips for $10; so we tried. Yum!! Light batter, crispy, tender fish. Amazing fries. Recommend ++

One of my first dine in experiences since COVID has started. Was VERY impressed with the service and the attention to protocols. Hand sanitizing and cleaning were very clearly a priority. The food was delicious and portion sizes here are hearty. The fish has a slightly sweet batter and is light and fluffy. Fresh cut fries are plentiful and delicious. Best part is the giant bottle of tartar sauce that accompanied the plate.

My husband and I tried this restaurant tonight and we were both very satisfied with the restaurant, service and food. We both ordered the haddock, greek salad and fries. Food was plentiful and delicious. Would definitely recommend eating here.

We enjoyed lunch at the Halibut House in Kingston. This is the first restaurant we have eaten inside of since March, in the Stage 3 Emergency Measures lock-down. It is part of a restaurant chain, we have frequented other Halibut House locations in the past. This one is brand-new and very clean. We had our favourite, the Halibut and Chips lunch special, and a Greek salad. The food and service were excellent, as we have come to expect from all their locations we have visited. We highly recommend them for a quick lunch stop with nice atmosphere.

We thoroughly enjoyed the halibut combo and chips onion rings shrimp and scallops, and a cod and chips order, and an order of calamari! Contactless delivery was efficient. This will now be in our covid-19 rotation! We are impressed that a commercial venture started in these very weird time, and look forward to dining in!

Yes it was opening day and with Covid there was the normal wait which was fine. I was looking forward to a great fish and chip spot close to home. Halibut looked like someone took their frustrations out on it never seen it so flat and was overcooked. I am a seafood snob self-admitted but will not be going back for the Halibut at all. As it was opening day I may try the breakfast and maybe haddock or cod but will be the last chance. The fresh-cut fries were a hit very nice and the portion was huge.
