Bakhtar Kabab - Afghan Restaurant

I can't believe I haven't given this place a review yet.

Used to be one of my regular lunch spots back in 2015 - 2021 when I worked in the area and finally had a chance to go back there today

A) they've renovated and the place looks great!
B) the food is STILL fabulous, super tasty, and affordable. Nice to know the consistency is there ya know!

Highly recommend this place.
My go to is the chicken breast meal. The meat has a great flavor, perfectly grilled, and the sauces are an excellent compliment to the dish.
The rice is sooooo good too
And the fresh baked naan, don't even get me started.....I suggest ordering an extra naan to go!

So happy to see the large lineup of customers despite the crazy construction on the street in front of them.

To start off with, the food is delicious and the same as the ridgeway plaza location. It is ~$2 more here though. Get the double tikka, it’s good. The lady at the register (I am assuming she is the owner) however is one of the rudest people I’ve interacted with in Canada. The restaurant is also in a warehouse, but the inside is nice.

Have been coming here consistently (I work nearby) for a whole year, and I must say they are very consistent with the quality of food they put out. It always tastes great and it’s always warm/fresh

They are a little curt with their customer service but I’m treated nicely otherwise, so it’s completely fine

Probably the best Afghan food I’ve had anywhere in the GTA

Amazing authentic afghani food, I got the wazri platter and the sultani platter. The chicken was so tender and juicy, the kofta kebab of both chicken and beef was seasoned so well. The fluffy fresh rice really was amazing. And the bread was soft yet crispy. 10/10 would recommend.
