Why is it all the best things in life come to an end so soon! Just kidding, and all the best in retirement. We have regularly dropped in to Dars for several years after discovering Dars by chance , just driving down the road. No doubt, the best baker ever. From the quiches to tarts and donuts, everything was soooo good. And not to forget the delicious preserves. Thank you Dar. You will be greatly missed.
Thank you Dar! My husband and I have popped in many times over the years because the baked goods are consistently amazing. Have never been disappointed in anything I bought and prices have always been fair. I don't go there to be entertained or coddled, and always know what to expect. Happy Retirement... you will be missed!
We lived kitty corner to Dar’s Delights for almost 20 years! Dar makes the best pies and tarts and… well everything she sells in her shop is great! It was so great to have fresh baking within walking distance! Dar has a great sense of humour and if you don’t get it, don’t worry, just shut up and eat your tart! If you are in Moffat and she’s open, make sure you drop by!
Dars Delights has amazing food! But Dar is very too her self and she doesnt care what people think of her. People might say that shes rude but sometimes people dont relize that you should never actully take that offensive. She is just a person like that. The food on the other hand its amazing it is great food that she sells. The pies are the best pies that I have aten in my life.
What a lovely place to happen upon. Great selection of baked goods, jars of pickles, jams, salsa, etc. All fresh.I absolutely love the quiches, veggie pot pies, sausage rolls. The crust is amazing.
Dropped in for the first time. The bacon/spinach quiche and the peach pie we bought were great. We will return.
Listen people, if you're going to Dar's Delights for delicious baked goods (including frozen meat or vegan "vegetable" pies; jars of jellies, jams, olives, pasta sauces; fresh baked quiches, etc etc., then you'll not be disappointed. If you're going there expecting a friendly face and a delightful Dar, you will be disappointed. Personally, I always laugh after I've been there. I'm incredibly amused how anyone can be so miserable and unfriendly. That's OK. Really it's OK. I really love the product selection and it's fun to wonder whether Dar will crack a smile or even say thank you. I believe it only happened once in the 15 years I've gone there. God live her - she's a talented baker/cook, but delightful she is not. Get there before she retires.
Homemade bakery is the best type of bakery. Dar has a vast selection of pie, pastry, condiments,.. all delicious. But her pecan tarts are to die for. We always get 2 dozens every time we get to stop by.
My friends and I always go here for breakfast, amazing service and the food is always fresh
Their pies are to die for. It's all about the crust and Dar's got it right. Also their donuts. So. freaking. good.I was expecting Dar to be....Dar. As per reviews. She was unexpectedly friendly. A bit curt, but in a friendly way. Like a no nonsense kind of way. I bought my goods and left. No nonsense. It was a perfectly pleasant transaction.

The butter tarts (version with pecan) the best I have eaten. The woman working in the store was crabby. A refreshing change from forced CS cheerfulness. I also bought 3 small quiche. They are as perfect as any quiche ever. Pastry good. The egg filling light and soft ish yet firm. I had olive and feta. Very light on added salt- so delish. Whomever bakes for Dars Delights knows baking temperatures. Highly recommend both the baking and ? surly service. I
Talented baker. Store has lots of variety. Hot cross buns taste like my Mom's. Worth the detour off 401
We went in on our way back from the cottage. It smelled amazing in there! We said good morning to the lady, she scowled at us, said nothing and we walked out. I really don’t care how good everything smelled and probably tastes. The customer service is absolutely brutal. Not our first visit but definitely our last.
Absolutely incredibly rude service. Our party was made to feel like we were inconveniencing the owner by entering the establishment. All our baked goods were handled by the owner with bare hands after we witnessed her cleaning a window just prior to taking our order. Very unsanitary. We will not be back.
Every single item we have purchased is incredible. Dar is dedicated and not rude at all, just don't ask d*** questions. I have been in the store many times and having to listen to some of the customers questions, you will know why she comes off as rude. Asking if the pies are fresh or why there isn't any more donuts is going to get a rigid answer.
