Golden Fish & Chips / Sushi Yama

It is take out only. I love going here for fish and chips. I tried other places in Milton and this is always a go too over the rest

Got 2 shrimp tempura, 2 avocado, 1 yam tempura, 1 kamikaze roll. Came out to be $50 and nothing is good.
The yam tempura isn’t edible, had to throw it out.
Avocado roll is fine but there was almost one roll with very hard avocado pieces so got rice only.
Kamikaze roll is fine but nothing special
Shrimp tempura roll has an aftertaste, shrimp was very stale and hard.
Paid $1 for one spicy mayo and it’s all liquid. Doesn’t taste like anything.
Decided to try sushi Yama after hearing positive reviews but it’s not good, save your time and go elsewhere

I want to start by saying the lady who helped was super nice and you can tell that sushi was made with care and not haphazardly put together. My biggest, well not really complaint, more so an observation is that the avocado wasn’t ripe enough in the dynamite roll. It was tough to chew which took away from the flavour of the rest of the sushi. I will be back though to try the fish and chips!

The new fries are terrible. We come in weekly but not for long unless they change them. They are never browned & are cold by the time we get it home, 5 minutes away

The fish is fresh , but could make a little effort to slice the sashimi in slices, then just chopping up the fish in random square chunks!!

Not sure how this place is still in business. I ordered before and was disappointed. Gave it another try - Fish wasn't fresh, the tempura shrimp in the maki tasted like it was fried in the same oil as their fish and chips. Maki wasn't even rolled properly. Even the ginger tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for years! How does that happen with pickled ginger?! Horrible quality for the price I paid. Do yourself a favor.. Don't try it.

No utensils napkins nothing dry fries absolutely ridiculous

Not amazing, but also not disappointed. The kids liked their crab rolls and after adding a bit more seasoning to the fries, they enjoyed those too. For the maki dinner, the spicy salmon tasted the best of the three. Owners are friendly, but they only take cash or debit. The fish was nice and light. It didn’t weigh me down like how I usually feel after eating battered fish. My wife only eats dynamites she wasn’t too impressed. It was just okay for her.
