Joya is a staples and a traditional for our family. The food is fantastic and the best quality sushi around. The family who run Joya are amazing people who go out of their way to make you feel the love in the environment, hospitality, and the quality of their food.
Our favourite items are their fish cake soup, the spicy tuna hand rolls (TO DIE FOR), and the avocado salad, which is perfect in its simplicity. We could drink the dressing.
Joya is top-notch and is without a doubt our favourite sushi spot.

One of our favourite spots. Some of the best sushi, kimchi and Korean bbq we’ve ever had.
This cozy restaurant has both Korean & Japanese dishes which is nice for the variety. In my opinion it is a slightly higher price point than average Korean/ Japanese restaurants. But the service was great & the quality of food was also good. The complimentary miso soup is a very nice touch. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.

I ordered their Korean beef entrées on a whim once and it became my all time favourite meal. I’m no longer living in Hamilton and I swear I dream about that meal it was so good especially with a side of the house made kimchi and a cold coke. The food is so consistently good I can’t recommend this place enough.

Having been going to Joya sushi for years; old location and new. Their Nabe Udon is good. Today I ordered the spicy seafood udon. I never knew that seafood does not include fish. It was a bowl of tiny, rubbery octopus pieces. Needed a microscope to see them. Cocktail shrimp; overcooked and number of mussels. The broth was tomato heavy… more tomato soup than broth. I need to find a place with good nabeyaki. Emetai in Toronto had the best Nabeyaki with sunshine and they knew what togarashi was… delish… anything like that around Ancaster? Not going back to Joya…
