We always have a great experience at this diner. Breakfast entrées are always hot & yummy, great home fries & excellent eggs Benny. My husband tried the meatloaf with mashed potatoes very good. Exciting to see they have new specials occasionally. Good idea. We had Kyle for a server recently & he was funny & friendly. Great service. 😊

Ordered the banquet burger and a Mushroom burger. The banquet burger had cheese and bacon on it. Hardly a banquet for $18.00. The Mushroom burger had 3 Mushroom pieces on it. Both tasted fine. We also had 2 teas which were both luke warm. The total was $60.00. The restaurant was also a mess with holes in the benches and paperwork all over the counter and clutter everywhere. The servers were great. Will I go back, no, it's not worth it.

Lindsay took care of me here. She got me my delicious Minden Burger quickly. Real meat, real fresh bun and French Fries cooked to perfection.
She also gave me a wet wipe for my motorcycle visor.
If you read this, don't give this place a second thought and get yourself some great food.....they will take care of you here!
Update: Mabel & Kyle are also pretty awesome peeps! Try the Sheppards Pie if you get the chance!!!

We opted for the 50s diner, upon learning Molly's was closed. Sadly, they were short staffed (no fault of those that showed up to work), so the attentiveness and speed of service was horrible. But it was made up for in the quality of the food. Delicious brunch! Just glad we weren't in a hurry.

We stopped in after a hockey game at about 210pm. They close at 3, so we were mindful of this while ordering. Dishes ordered were 2 shepherds pie, chicken quesadilla and the big burg. Everything was handmade in house! Service was absolutely fantastic. Kyle was our sever, it is rare (in our experience) to have someone with such a personality; polite, engaging and efficient. Our next time through Minden we will be sure to stop

We’ve been in Minden for 3 summers now and have just tried the Minden Diner for the first time. It won’t be the last. The omelette was hot and flavourful, rye was fresh, service was as you’d expect w a smaller staff but well worth the brief wait. This isn’t fast food, it’s good food! What a pleasant gem!

The 50's Diner is my go to stop in when in Minden. The food has always been good, the portions are generous and the pricing for the food seems very fair for what you get. I have visited probably 6 times over the last year or so when I am in town. Unfortunately the service has taken a dive the last couple of visits which is disappointing. My last visit I waited over 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged. There were probably 6 tables occupied with two waitresses. It seems they are more focuses on chatting with the tables and themselves. Once I was able to order the service was good and I even received a check back to make sure I had everything.
Overall the atmosphere and the food are always consistent. The service definitely leaves something to be desired. I 100% understand if the restaurant is full I don't mind waiting at all. When the restaurant is 1/3 full with two people working the service needs to improve quite a bit in my opinion.
I had a very bad experience last Saturday. food was pretty bad (including a coleslaw that was almost spoiled in my opinion) and service took very long (more than 40 minutes since i placed my order).

Stop going here for a while because the waitresses were so rude and the ambiance was so dull. I really miss bacon and eggs. I thought I’d give it another chance today and was so pleasantly surprised to see the place really clean new staff and friendly smiles. I will definitely be back again five stars.

Visited twice so far, May and October 2024 servers are nice and friendly and food was good but both times it took around 40 minutes to get our food. There are washrooms available but not super clean. The flush in the men's washroom is not working properly.
Vegetarian options: There are few veg options in the menu.
Parking: Free parking is available in the plaza. It's not difficult to find the parking spot.
Kid-friendliness: It's a nice family restaurant.

Service was slow, food was cold, gravy was awful (canned, I think), had to ask for cutlery and napkins after food was served, not very clean. Will never return there again.
