This place has been around a long time and I’ve never been. What a mistake! The food was cooked well, the rice was fragrant and soft, the chicken tender, all the curry sauces were well done, with just the right amount of spice and coconut milk, I have only great things to say about them. The couple that own the restaurant are lovely as well, asking about how much spice we wanted in case there were smaller children eating with us.Don’t wait to go here, you won’t be disappointed! And try the onion bhajees, great appetiser for a hearty meal. Enjoy!Kid-friendliness: The owners asked about how much spice to include so that the little kids can also try it. So thoughtful!

Definitely one of the best butter chicken dishes we have had. Portion was generous, made fresh and tastes great. Shall order again.

Ancila is a gracious host and her food is some of the best Indian cuisine I’ve had the pleasure of eating. perfect consistency and new authentic flavours you don’t get from the local spots. Everything is fresh and vibrant, I find myself dreaming about the chicken takatak, rice and naan. Highly recommend!

The food is delicious and one of my favorite restaurants for good authentic Indian dishes. The food is prepared from scratch on order and always fresh and perfectly made, which makes it a bit longer of a wait but well worth it. We have never been disappointed. The Butter Chicken and Chicken Korma are among our favorites (especially my wife and our son). I love both but for me I love the Chicken Vindaloo at spice level 8 out of 10 and it's perfect! The plain rice is always perfect for any above noted dishes. The garlic naan and aloo masala naan are amazing too. We've had the Biryani in the past as well and very tasty.Highly recommended!

Ancila’s was a fantastic discovery we made when looking for a change of restaurant and it is an absolute treasure. This is home cooking, made to order, and with love. You can’t fake this quality goodness. Ancila herself took my call, carefully took the order, and called me back when it was 10 minutes from ready. The menu is just a guideline. She’s cooking for you. Don’t be in a hurry. Slow down and enjoy a wonderful experience.Vegetarian options: Baingan bharta, chili paneer

Very pleasant and hidden gem! You need a reservation since all the food is made from scratch and the menu is very accommodating to our specific tastes and spice tolerance. Everything was amazing and very very good! This is the best Indian food we had in Toronto. Highly recommended but please book ahead!

First time in Canada and also eating dinner alone for the first time and Ancila was absolutely amazing. She made sure that I got exactly what I was craving. She sat with me and we had a great conversation. I couldn't have asked for a better experience or a more delicious meal. Very cozy and comfortable feel. I'd come back to Canada just for this!

we saw this place pop up on yelp’s round up of canada’s best 100 restaurants and decided on a whim to check it out. the food is delicious and, as others have mentioned, customized to your preferences. there isn’t really a menu, just the chef coming over to ask open ended questions about your palate and spice level.the chef herself is very charismatic. she seemed to know everyone among the diverse group of people dining or picking up take out.
