Applewood Fish and Chips

My partner, and I recently found this gem in our neighborhood and loved it! The food was delicious and it’s got that special something because he tried the calamari and the coleslaw!!! Both things he doesn’t like and would not even eat when travelling to countries famous for them !!!

The haddock and halibut both were tasty and the wickedly good tartar sauce is bound to have us back!

Service is fast, food is good tasting and reasonably priced although portions have reduced.

New ownership so no longer our go to fish and chips place.

We happen to be in the area and found this gem of a little fish and chips place. The food was fresh and delicious. They homemade tartar sauce was so good too. We dined in and it was a quaint indoor restaurant very clean!!! The service was fantastic, there were friendly, kind and overall just great energy. We will definitely be going back.

Halibut was a generous portion with a nice, light batter. Tasty homemade tartar sauce. Generously sized small coleslaw. More chips than I needed--will order a half serving next time. A tasty organic cookie easily satisfied my sweet tooth. Six tables for four. Friendly service. I'll be back. 🙂

Sadly, my wife doesn't do fish and chips, so it will probably be alone. 🙃

I ordered the halibut and chips and the scallops I am blown away !!! I will be coming back here weekly, the owner jay was so friendly and inviting you can taste the love in the food! Highly recommend.

Great place, and they are now accepting card payments. They also have some seasonal offerings for fish other than just Halibut and Haddock, but it is equally fresh. Decor is tacky but that's ok

New owners took over 6 months ago is what I was told. The fish is really greasy, tasted the grease for hours after. My wife and I have been eating here since the 80’s, probably will not be going back again.
