Generally I am ok with Mexican kitchen, not me best though, went with a large group so tried many dishes, Fajita was really good and shrimp too, a small friendly family business that’s what I mostly like about it

Cute little place that’s always jam packed. One of the few restaurants that serves pozole which is the perfect dish on a chilli winters night.

Visited border mx with my family and had a great night! The Vulcan and fish tacos were delicious and Jorge surprised us for my birthday. Great experience !

Border MX was a pretty decent restaurant with a great atmosphere and the staff were very nice and kind. The only issue was that we had to wait over 40 minutes for our appetizers and 1 hour for our entrees due to the kitchen being busy despite the restaurant not being very full. We ordered all the vegetarian dishes that they offered ( chimichanga, enchiladas, burrito and nachos) and the flavors were good with the only downside of the spice level was very bland and was a striking difference from the spicy Mexican dishes we usually eat. Overall I would recommend for people who don’t like spicy food but want great flavor and for people who are able to wait a while before the food comes out.

While the food itself was enjoyable, we were left disappointed with the service and some issues that felt misleading when it came to billing. Service was very slow, it took a long time for our order to be taken, for water to arrive, and for drinks to be served. Our appetizers actually came before our drinks, and I had to remind the server about my order. We also ran into inconsistency with the menu: we ordered two cauliflower tacos, but were told there was only enough for one (they said there was no more cauliflower left). Oddly, the table next to us (who ordered at the same time) was served cauliflower tacos without issue. Another frustration was with the drinks. I asked for a strawberry margarita but wasn’t informed that there were different sizes. The server brought me a large ($16.99), which I only noticed when reviewing the bill. On top of that, I ordered Enchiladas Suiza but was instead given the Divorce style. Cheese was added (even though I didn’t ask for it) and an extra $3 was tacked on. As for the food, it was decent though slightly bland. Overall, we did enjoy eating here, but the lack of clear communication and feeling overcharged left a sour taste. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning.
