We visited this restaurant’s original location on Yonge and Finch about two decades ago. Back then, the menu featured just eight items, and we sampled them all—they were absolutely delicious. So, when we discovered a branch in Mississauga, we headed there with high expectations and excitement.
Unfortunately, the experience fell far short. The food was below average overall. The gamjatang was particularly disappointing: skimpy on portions, lacking in flavor and quality ingredients. The bones seemed low-grade, with barely any meat attached, and the soup tasted overwhelmingly of ginger without any depth or aroma.
The menu description was misleading, implying that the soup bowl came with bibimbap, but it was simply a plain bowl of rice served in a hot stone pot—no vegetables, egg, or other mix-ins. To me, that’s false advertising. We also received just three tiny side dishes, which felt inadequate.
At these prices, the quality doesn’t justify the cost. We won’t be returning.

If you’re craving authentic Korean comfort food, I highly recommend Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu. Their signature soft tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae) is rich, comforting, and full of flavor — the kind of meal that warms you from the inside out. The banchan (side dishes) are fresh and tasty, and the service is quick and efficient. One of the best places in the city. ❤️🫶🏻❤️🔥🫰🏻

I came from Romania, and this Korean restaurant was the best choice 💯 ! The food was absolutely delicious—authentic, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere cozy, and every bite felt like a real taste of Korea. Truly a five-star experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had an amazing experience at Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor — especially the tofu soup, which came out piping hot and perfectly seasoned. The side dishes were generous and tasty, and everything felt very authentic. The staff were friendly and quick with service, even when it was busy. The restaurant was clean and cozy, perfect for a comforting Korean meal. Definitely one of my go-to spots for Korean food!

One of my favourite low key restaurants.
I come here when i crave that warm soup with spices craving.
I went there recently and the lady taking our order was the sweetest! Always smiling and being polite.
I’ve not been here in years until recently and i love that they now give individual sides, before at a table of 3-4 they’d give only one dish of sides for us to share - so I’m glad they now give it individually because those sweet beans are always a hit and everyone grabs em lol.
Overall 5/5 all the time, The reason i give it a 4 is only because the tteobokki was a bit of a small portion, i didn’t like the extra add ons (like the fried rice wrapped in seaweed) I’m a hog for the rice cake and want more of that. It’s filling but i expected it to be a big bigger. Other than that the taste was amazing! I could put that sauce in a jar and take it home!
My favorites to order are the Beef soon tofu and seafood soon tofu.
Tips: come with cash, you get a discount if you pay that way.
The rice in the hot bowl can be scraped if you add water to the end.
The soup is really hot, make sure it summers down first (add the eggs to cook in the start too)

We encountered this place by chance while we were craving for Korean food. I had the bulgogi dish and my partner had the bibimbap. We absolutely loved it, so we came for a second time to try more items on their menu. We had the broiled beef dish and the broiled spicy pork. Our meals were excellent and the staff are so friendly. If you are looking for comforting cozy korean dishes, this is absolutely a must visit!

I was already familiar with this place since I went to the location at North York, I love these type of food, soup and rice. I love the sides they have here more, the side I love specifically is the Pickled Radish, everything else was good, nothing to crazy to say here but great place to get a nice homey cooked meal.

Small selection of food but very good. The stone bowl meals contain a good amount of food. Complimentary side dishes contain kimchi, pickled radish, and braised soybeans; different from other korean restaurants but still good.

Went to Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu for the first time and loved it. I had the bibimbap, bulgogi, and dumplings—everything was super tasty and fresh. The bulgogi was so tender, and the bibimbap came out sizzling hot. Even the rice was crispy and hit the spot. Fast and nice service. Definitely coming back!
