Such a cute little gem found in the Credit Valley Professional building. I had a delay for an appointment that didn't warrant leaving for an hour and coming back so I sat in here after purchasing a croissant and coffee to pass the time. Pleasant staff and it was nice to notice a lot of regulars walking in here and being greeted with such warmth from the ladies there. Clearly they get to know their customers well and take pride in their work. Would recommend checking them out.

Stumbled upon this little gem of a bistro. Absolutely the best salad I have ever had. The homemade Chili & cornbread was also phenomenal. We took some jerk chicken home with us , we had it for supper - AMAZING . Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your restaurant. We will be back - regardless of a medical appointment!!! Thanks again . You ladies are awesome 😎

The worst, most bitter cold brew I have ever had. Threw it out after two sips. 30% more expensive than others too.
Sullen service though I was quiet as a mouse.
No liquid sugar though they serve the range of cold drinks, so I was reduced to stirring granular sugar into the ice cubes.

A cozy hidden gem that feels like sitting in a garden 🌸
Doris’ Bistro-Café is one of those rare spots that instantly makes you feel at home. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the sight of homemade cakes and muffins, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
The staff are so kind and warm, and the space is filled with plants and little details that make it feel like you’re sipping coffee in a quiet garden. 🌿 Their Halal chicken and beef options are a thoughtful touch, and the fresh baked desserts especially the carrot loaf and caramel cakes caught my eyes! I shall try on my next visit 😘
Whether you’re coming for breakfast, lunch, or just a cup of tea with a friend, Doris’ is the kind of place that brightens your day. Highly recommend if you love cozy cafés with heart and authenticity. ☕️💛

Just purchased a simple bagel with egg and cheese sandwich and it hit the spot!. It reminded me of a sandwich I used to eat 20 years ago. The service was also great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back

I hate to leave this negative review because the owner is lovely but the employee that messed up my order was very rude, blamed me and questioned my intelligence. Please do not insult customers intelligence after you made the wrong thing. Be humble and apologize, I would not be leaving this review if you had not blamed me for your mistake. I loved this place and was really excited to come every week but now I will not be returning. Also you forgot to put items I purchased in the bag…

This wonderful mom and pop shop restaurant is more than just a cafeteria and bistro. It’s a full out restaurant with great options for breakfast and lunch. The food is all made fresh and taste. Very homemade. Tried the breakfast here as well as a carrot cake. The coffee was pretty good too!
There isn’t any free parking so if you are OK for time, just park across at the mall and walk over to the medical building. Otherwise we ended up paying eight dollars for parking in the hospital.

I was greeting warmly at breakfast where I enjoyed my read and macadamia nut cookie by the window. I returned with my mother later and had lunch. They remembered I had come earlier and welcomed me again. Food was so good and homemade, and filling. Too bad it’s hidden inside the building. This place is a real gem.

Great experience having veggie omelette.
Very basic ambience, but the food...! This place is as affordable as a truck stop, yet the food is as good as you would get in a high-end restaurante. Your meal will likely cost about $20 per person, including your drink. So, it seems they have to discount their prices, and call themselves a bistro, solely because of the unfortunate location.
This bistro is often frequented by local contractors, who pay the hospital's nasty parking fee just to get access to the excellent food. The contractors seem far more able to eat all they get, versus the many old people who are mostly killing time while visiting doctors.
The service is fast, friendly and always happy, as if the staff have a secret source of sunshine. Basically these guys are a bit over-qualified to be in this location, so if you run a business nearby, and you are looking for 3 or 4-star event-catering... Heck, maybe just head-hunt the entire team (3-ladies), and start your own danged restaurante.
The cooking-style is Caribbean, but never hot-spicy. There are plenty of Trinidadian cake slices, Costa Rican layer cakes, and a chopped-chicken flavouring that is almost as good as the world's best (Chicken Rita's in Barbados). There are a range of teas and coffees, not as much as Starbucks of course, but of equivalent quality -- which is another surprise. Their speciality is a range of all-day breakfasts (3-pancakes, bacon, sausage, etc), but this much food may require you to ask for a doggybag container. The pancakes last a day in the fridge, but after that, you are definately on your own.
I just wish this place was not located in the back-lobby of a butt-ugly, worn-out medical building. I'd also like this bistro to have a drive-thru, perhaps in the (secretly free) staff parking/dumpster lot behind the building, upon which the bistro's giant windows overlook. Sorry, I am better at critique than praise, but despite their ugly location, the great food is definately worth the parking fee.
That was my first time here. I tried Hot Lunch Special for $16.25. You can choose one meat + two sides. The rosted chicken Greek style was so flavorful and tasty, the skin potato stuffed with a creamy mushed potato covered with cheese was delicious, and the Greek salad was also good. I had chocolate cake for dessert, very well done as well. I met the cooker (I believe she is the owner) and she was very friendly and attentive. I gave her my compliments for such delicious food. I really recommend the place.
The tres leches is a must try and the staff is so polite and hospitable!
