I previously left a 5 star review as El Jefe was our go-to place in Port Credit. After a year's absence I visited again last night and was very sad to see how the food and service has gone downhill. The Yuca fries which were fantastic were taken off the menu, no more wheat beer on tap, I used to enjoy shock top. The chimichanga is now a miserable affair consisting of very dry shredded chicken and rice and some slices of cheese which did not even had a chance to melt. No sauce at all. The salad looked more like a greek salad, no dressing, nothing inspiring. Asked for a beer, after which the waiter smacked a can on the table, a glass perhaps, nope. There is a lot of competition in Port Credit, and this menu, food quality and service do not cut it for me. Sad to leave, you guys used to be so good.

Stopped here for a dinner on Saturday and we were highly disappointed. It was pretty early maybe only 5pm so it wasn't busy, I've seen it packed on other occasions so i thought it'd be worth checking out. We were seated promptly and water brought over moments later. The menu I was given was filthy. We ordered the taco platter which came with 1 each of the 5 options. There was no presentation at all, just 5 tortillas slapped on a plate(open faced and overlapping) with a small variety of toppings which didn't even include a lime, guac or sour cream. The flavor of the tacos was mediocre at best. I did also have a blue margarita which was alright. As we were finishing our meal they proceed to seat a couple with a huge Dobermann at the table beside us. Bear in mind this is a fully enclosed patio with quite cramped seating. It shouldn't be assumed that everyone is comfortable eating with a massive dog beside them. Needless to say I immediately got up, paid at the bar and left.... and I assure you, I will never return.

me and my friends came here for lunch and the service and food was amazing, our appetizers and drinks came right away and the our server, lotus was really nice, she always made sure we were good and if we needed anything, everything came super fast, the food was amazing 10/10, i got the pescado duo tacos and they were really good definitely recommend, my table even was jealous because mine was so good, my friends got the enchiladas and shrimp tacos and they also said it was very good, they are very clean and professional. overall i really recommend coming here it is a very good atmosphere with music and nice people, me and my friends really enjoyed it here and would definitely come back. (first pic is tres leches, second is our food third is appetizers). the prices are reasonable and wasn’t very expensive for the amount of food we got, we actually got a lot and the price was pretty low. and people are complaining about the small menu but in my opinion i think it’s perfect especially because im indecisive and honestly if you want a bigger menu go to a buffet.
absolutely love this restaurant! The Mexican food here is always fresh, flavorful, and full of authentic taste you can tell they put real heart into every dish. The atmosphere is so inviting, with such a great vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy every bite. One of the highlights is the amazing worker, Lotus so friendly, welcoming, and attentive, they make the whole experience even better. I’ve also heard such great things about the owner, and it really shows in the way this place is run. Everything feels cared for, from the service to the food to the atmosphere. If you’re craving delicious Mexican food with warm service and a place that just feels good to be in, this is the spot!

this place was so so so good.The food was amazing and of the most amazing quality,the service was the best, everything was very quick,everything had very good flow and the serves were so nice!Our server was lotus and we met the owner and she was the sweetest person you’ll ever meet!I don’t know why the reviews aren’t that good but what I can tell you is that these people don’t know what they’re talking about when they say this stuff!if you ever need good food and need an uplift in your mood then come here!!!!!

We visited this restaurant recently and really appreciated the lovely patio seating.The staff were friendly and attentive, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food, which was a plus. The drink we ordered was also quite good. Unfortunately, the food itself was a letdown. The chicken tacos were overly salty, making them hard to enjoy, and the batter on the fish tacos wasn’t crispy. Overall, while the service and setting were good, the food didn’t meet our expectations.
