Always good vibes at Jefe

The food here is noooooot good quality. Came for a late night Sunday bite at 9pm. Got the fundido (horrible) and the shrimp tacos. My boyfriend and i’s stomach have both been in shambles since (it’s Wednesday). Do not recommend for food, drinks are alright.

Use to order from here, slowly watched as quality deteriorated at a rapid pace. Recently tried again, chimichanga use to come with sour cream, pica di gio, now comes with nothing. Literally a tortilla with rice, just embarrassing. Order from Gus taco if you want Mexican.

Came here for the first time after 4 years and I remember the food being MUCH better. Quality and taste is simply not there. Not sure if there was a change of management or something but the food is nothing special.

Went to jefes after work last night with a group of about 10 coworkers.

We ordered a whole bunch of share plates and tacos for the table. Unfortunately the kitchen was out of some of things we wanted. Our server Mitch made some fantastic replacement recommendations and everyone was happy and full.

Mitch also suggested we try the sangria for our large group which was a hit with everyone also

Thanks to El jefe and Mitch for a great night we will be back again for sure!

Quality of the food was great and the music was live but the service provided by Alex really made it worth trying this place out. Friendly and quick service for sure! I enjoyed the patio even while it was a cold night because they have heaters. Extremely happy to have found this place and I would definitely come again.

A nice punky restaurant - it is a bit on the dark and loud side, probably aimed at younger clientele. There is an outdoor section as well. My food took a while to arrive (25 minutes or so) despite it being fairly empty at the time. I wasn't blown away by the taquitos (the salad bed they sat on made them immediately soggy) but the food was overall tasty.

Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options - there are a few meat free sharers which can be easily combined into a good amount of food

We went there to celebrate my husbands bday. Both patio and indoors carry a good vibe. The servers are nice. They take care of you well. The good is delicious. We ordered Tacos platter mix of chicken, cauliflower and shrimps and all of them were good. In shareable we also ordered Taquitos. I must say they were the best I ever had. Quesadillas and Enchiladas were also great.
As a courtesy they brought us a cake with candle on the top free of charge. We forgot to take pictures but we relished everything we ordered. Go visit and find out yourself.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available and if you ask them they can also provide meats on the side.

The atmosphere is unique. Lots of outdoor seating. The food is a bit pricey, but it is located in Port Credit. Ordered the beef and fish tacos, both were tasty. Service was fair, drinks took awhile, but food came quickly.

I love tacos and this is a pretty good taco place. A bit pricey but still nice for an evening out.

Ordered the chicken tacos. Was supposed to have fajita veggies and cilantro. Only came with chicken on a tortilla and some sauce. Big rip off for the price. Also, when the server went to clean the table next to ours, it was so windy and she did not consider that the spray she was spraying on the table was blowing into our table and food. No common sense.

We were so excited to try El Jefe and it was a disappointment. The food was good (North American Mexican) and portions reasonable. The Spicy Margherita was awesome! The biggest issue was the service was horrible! It was slow when we arrived, however our server seemed to be put out that we even showed up. Had to go and find her to order food and then helped ourselves to cutlery when the food was delivered. Still searching for a great Mexican restaurant as this is definitely not it.

Horrible service, I completely understand restaurants get busy and I am nothing but understanding and patient. Even after finding a fly in our drink, and waiting nearly 45 minutes for our bill. Our service should have been better considering how patient and polite we were. A simple “thanks for your patience, sorry for the wait” goes a long way. Even after we paid and tipped, the server just walked away didn’t even say a word. We all looked at each other thinking huh? is she coming back? There’s no way she would just walk away without saying thank you?! Nope! Tore the receipt and literally walked off. Completely unacceptable for someone who just got 3 separate tips for service we weren’t happy with. On the plus side, Margaritas were great … but definitely won’t be returning .

One star for the cool indoor and outdoor space and another star for just serving food. Slow service we didn't get to place our food orders after 30 minutes of being seated (it was not busy), and the tacos were just okay.
