Nice restaurant for anyone looking to have desi Chinese. Mind you it is not Hakka so it is indeed much more flavourful and actually feels like desi Chinese. We had chicken corn soup, chilli chicken, egg fried rice, beef chilli and veg chowmein. Everything was fantastic, beef chilli the pieces or slices could have been thinner to add more flavour to the beef we felt. Service was nice and attentive too. Book a table online to avoid the long inperson wait times due to the demand. We booked online and were immediately seated. Highly recommended.

Walked in on a Sunday night without a reservation. Had a. 25 minute wait( expected at most restaurants in the GTA) Ordered the red hot and sour soup, chicken chowmein, egg fried rice and kindo supreme beef, mint margarita to share between a party of two. We ordered the 1-2 person servings for everything. Cost us $60.
Positives: great hostess and staff who were very efficient in turning over tables and making sure people were being seated as soon as possible. Guests who had reservations and were on time were being seated promptly. The food was also made fresh and delicious, what one would expect of a top quality desi Chinese restaurant. Portion sizes were very generous, and i would recommend ordering one entree for 2 persons.
Negatives; Disappointed they were out of crackers entirely. They could do a better job of ensuring menus, plates are clean. We didnt like the kindo supreme which was surprisingly recommended by our server as a popular choice.
Overall we had an enjoyable experience, recommend this place and will certainly be back! I think the reviews here commenting on the menu being difficult to navigate, or dishonest about portions are unfounded
Updated review regarding party catering experience;
We ordered 1 chicken chow mein and 2 kung pao gravy dishes for a party of 16 adults.( we made the egg fried rice and dumplings to serve with at home). Chow mein was a hit! Kung pao was good but not something memorable. I would probably order something different next time. Portion sizes were excellent in fact one tray of gravy would have been sufficient.

Growing up in Karachi, Ginsoy was a revelation — the kind of place that made you rethink what Chinese food could be. Moved to Canada 10 years ago, it slipped off my radar… until I spotted them in the most imfamous plaza in Canada presently, Ridgeway.
Weekend evenings here get busy. We’re talking wait times pushing an hour, so plan accordingly if you’re not into line-watching.
Went classic on my order: Dynamite Prawns and Crispy Chili Beef. One bite and I was instantly back in Karachi — no nostalgia goggles needed. The spice, the crunch, the unapologetic boldness — all intact.
Pro Tip: Stay clear of the gravies. There are plenty of Butter Chicken and Karahi options around.
Stick with whatever is coming fried or stir-fried.

Delicious food, generous portions, great service. Manjita (our server) made sure the soup was fresh and hot. She then served the main course later and kept asking if we needed anything else. I highly recommend eating here

On September 26, my family and I visited Ginsoy restaurant in Ridgeway Plaza for the first time, and we were truly disappointed. I have been living here for over 20 years and have tried many Chinese restaurants, but this was by far the worst experience in terms of both food and price.
We ordered chili chicken, chili beef, chicken noodles, chicken fried rice, dynamite prawns, and dragon fish. Unfortunately, none of the dishes had any flavor. The chili beef had a raw smell, the chicken fried rice had an unpleasant odor, and the dragon fish was soggy and mushy.
I grew up in Karachi and went to many Chinese restaurants there but wasn’t able to find the same flavour and taste here.
Not sure if it was one-off thing on that day but our experience was really disappointing :(

Terrible booking experience. Called to book, they said walk in. Came in, the said we only take bookings. Wait for an hour or longer. Never going again. What a waste of time!
