Despite being PACKED...OVER FLOWING on a TUESDAY evening, this restaurants managed to create a great atmosphere and keep the food quality TOP NOTCH!!! The restaurant is spacious, the decor is understated bur classy, the staff even wears uniforms, and then there's the FOOD!!!
DELICIOUS MAX PRO!!! Gone are the days of Dosa restaurants that used to (or even continue to) hold monopoly over South Indian food. THIS is it. How does even IDLI taste so flavorful and fluffy??? I had the Pizza Dosa and OMG I think I found my favorite kind of all time. It's like true veg Pizza MINUS the heavy crust, just delectable dosa crepe. Also, worth mentioning are the sides!!! The Sambar, the coconut chutney (mild one) AND the Rasam re ABSOLUTELY out of this world delicious! Nothing generic about them. They taste like they were made in-house, that day.
No more rival dosa places in the middle of congested Albion and Islington area situated on a hill in an impossible parking lot. Guru Lakshmi is my go to birthday place going forward.
Guru Lukshmi truly delivers a top-notch South Indian culinary experience. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of spices and sizzling dosas sets the tone for what’s to come.
I absolutely loved the Spicy Kara Dosa — perfectly crisp with just the right amount of heat. The Chettinad Dosa was another standout, packed with bold, aromatic flavors that left a lasting impression. For something comforting, the Mini Idly with sambar was a delight — soft, fluffy, and soaked in rich, flavorful broth. And if you’re a paneer lover like me, the Paneer Dosa is a must-try — loaded with delicious paneer and balanced spices.
The service was quick and courteous, and the chutneys and sambar served on the side were fresh and flavorful. Definitely one of the best places in the GTA for authentic South Indian food. I’ll be back soon!
Went to GuruLuxmi on a Thursday afternoon, yet the place was packed.
We ordered Mysore bhaji Dosa, idli/vada combo, filter coffee, masala chai and Badam Halwa.
Badam halwa stole the show. It was a bit too sweet but tasted really good. The flavours of almond, ghee and saffron were bursting in my mouth. The quantity though small but was enough. 4.5/5
Mysore bhaji masala dosa was thick and filled with generous amount of potatoes. I really enjoyed the taste of sambhar and dosa but was disappointed with the chutneys. Especially, coconut chutney had no taste to it. 3.5/5
Masala Tea had a strong taste of cardamom. I could hardly taste any other spice as i would expect in masala chai. Anyhow, i liked it. 5/5
The service was quick and the trainee regularly checked with us if we needed anything. 5/5
Authentic South Indian flavors! The dosas were crisp, sambhar was perfectly spiced, and the filter coffee hit the spot. Great service and clean ambiance. A must-visit for South Indian food
Great food! Highly recommend for Dosa
One may not beleive but I had to make several attempts before I got to eat here. Yes. So much rush and so busy. Their speciality is south indian food and it is heavenly. We cannot eat every dish in one go so plan to visit now and then and savour all their dishes. Heavenly. Wow.
I strongly recommend the owners to open more branches. There is so much demand for Gurulukshmi. Do not miss it.
Over hyped restaurant. Just regular dosa. I tried multiple dosa, but nothing was unique about it.
Thank you het it was a great experience
Nice experience in Indian taste
Best Dosa in the town. My go to cheat place.

I’ve visited this restaurant multiple times the food has always been consistently good, and that’s what kept bringing me back. However, the overall experience has continued to disappoint, especially when it comes to hospitality.
Despite being a regular customer, I’ve often felt disrespected not by the staff, but due to the atmosphere and the way the service is run, seemingly directed by the owner’s rigid rules. It feels like we’re being rushed to eat, constantly watched, and made to feel unwelcome the moment we sit down.
The experience has become so unpleasant that even people I know, who once loved the food here, have stopped coming for the same reasons. It’s frustrating! We come with reservations, pay full price, and still walk away feeling like a burden.
At this point, no matter how much I enjoy the taste, I genuinely doubt I’ll return. Good food means little if the experience leaves a bad aftertaste.
Food taste was not at all good. None of the chutneys were having spice or salt.
Worst food quality making you sick
🤮🤮🤮
I finally visited Guru Lukshmi after hearing so much about it—and wow, it lived up to every bit of the hype. From the moment we walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff set the tone for a memorable meal.
Really enjoyed the food. I popped in after learning it was Jagmeet Singh’s favourite spot to have dosa, and was not disappointed. Good prices, too.
