Too bad they used margarine, one of the bad fats, and matcha is the last ingredient, that’s why the taste is diluted. It’s just soso compared to what I had in Singapore’s matcha buns

So fluffy, light, and perfectly baked, the cream they use inside the buns is just as brilliant with the perfect balance of sweetness and flavour.
There are a few locations spread throughout GTA. I’ve seen it here and there and decided to finally give it a try since we were hanging out in Square One. I ordered three different cream buns: the Custard (top seller), Azuki Bean and the Strawberry (seasonal). The buns were extremely fluffy and the cream filling was smooth and velvety. There was a lot of filling in the buns so there wasn’t a bit where it was all bread. The filling wasn’t too sweet like you would expect with a Japanese dessert which I really appreciated.
These are meant to be chilled buns so if you’re going to multiple locations make Hattendo your last stop.
