Extremely disappointing experience.
This was by far the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. For a place that specializes in just one thing—fish and chips—you’d expect at least that to be decent. Unfortunately, everything was overcooked: the fish was burnt, the chips were hard and over-fried, and even the onion rings were charred.
To make things worse, the server disappeared after dropping off the food. I waited a long time for assistance but eventually had to leave.
I strongly advise against visiting this place. It was not only disappointing but almost inedible.
They offer free onion rings because you spend money, but they come so over cooked and oily they are completely uneditable. Haddock was so dry and overcooked it was crunchy.
Definitely not in the same category as fisherman’s place.
Good good and customer service
Worst halibut and chips! Everything tasted re-fried, or over cooked. It was so disappointing! Chips were hard as rocks, we were banging them on the plate and incredibly dry. The fish batter was soggy and Halibut was not fully cooked. There was one poor girl doing all the cooking and taking orders on a Sunday! They need two people on staff if they want to serve quality food. I won't be back.
Amazing food and service
Food is really delicious. Freshly made and fast for being freshly made. Service is good. Lady at the counter had a good vibe. I was guessing maybe an owner because she seemed all-in. If she’s the brunette people are referring to as rude, I got the opposite. Maybe it’s a different person. Older guy cooking seemed like it was his jam. I’d expect him to not be a ray of sunshine if he covers the counter, but I’m cool with that.
As for flavor. Quality haddock: generous portion of fish and chips. The breading is good. Crunchy breading and nicely cooked fish. Light on seasoning, but that’s not always a bad thing so you can do what you want flavor wise. I am a malt or hot sauce fan on fish usually. She recommended the tartar sauce. I tried all 3 and she was def right! It’s clean. The kitchen is open, which I like and it’s clean. Enough seating to be comfortable but more of a carry out vibe, but much is the only reason I have atmosphere 3 stars but overall a 5.
Very nice mom and pop place!

1. The food is excellent.
2. The atmosphere is excellent.
3. Marlena is excellent. The older gentleman needs work on his customer service. His approach to customer service make this place soar even more so.

The brunette woman who works here is rude and acts all irritated.
I've been on a fish 'n' chips hunt in the GTA. Heritage doesn't show up on any of the usual lists at all. I found this place while on the hunt from a successful home sense jaunt in Oakville.
It's a very British decor and the solo lady working at the end of a Sunday was really efficient and friendly. The haddock was delicious and the batter very light and there wasn't any hint of oil in my food. This suggests that they change the oil frequently and don't "stretch" it out, especially at the end of the day.
The Onion rings were delicious but the hallmark were the battered pickles. Très delicious! I dipped them into a cup of curry sauce which was quite flavourful and not bland like many other equivalent ones. I was very impressed and will return here again.

Great fish and chips. Good size portions and food wasn't oily, which means they change the oil regularly, instead of trying to stretch it. The price was good, considering most fish and chips are expensive.
Would recommend for sure
