Just attended an event for approx 40 people. It took almost 2 hours from arrival to getting our food. Even after getting bread and a bit of salad it was an hour until the main course. The chicken parmesan was yummy but we were all starving so I don't even know if that's a fair description. It seemed like they made each chicken park individually upon everyone's arrival. Tables were served in a staggered manor and many finished 30 min or so before others were served. I truly hope they learn from this and organize large events much differently in the future.

My family had pre booked a funeral reception at this restaurant where 40 people would be attending with a fixed, pre-selected, sit-down menu. The experience was disappointing from start to finish. Wine was served but when asking for something else you were lucky to ever receive it on your table. Water? They don’t seem to know what that is. The food was incredibly slow to come out, and when it finally did, it was not up to standard. By the time the first table had moved on to dessert, the last table was still waiting for their first course. As people were leaving and putting on their coats is when they were offered coffee or tea. Absolutely unacceptable. This lack of coordination and poor food quality was incredibly frustrating, especially during such a sensitive time. I do not recommend to book large gatherings at this restaurant as they seem to be overwhelmed and unable to provide quality service.

We had our daughter’s Holy Communion reception at the restaurant on Sunday April 28th 2024. I love that we had the entire restaurant to ourselves as they only open for private functions on the weekends. The owners (Kim and her Husband whose name I neglected to get) were so accommodating. They were kind and courteous from the start. Our servers were friendly and very attentive. Our water glasses and wine glasses were filled continuously. We also had access to a full bar.The food was spot on. I have zero complaints and our guests were just a thrilled.I won’t lie, the bill was about $500 higher than we anticipated. It’s an expensive place however we had a wonderful function and we’re happy all around.

Bad service, no accountability, no professionalism. Waited close to an hour just to get some bread on the table… and two hours till we got our orders in front of us. No apologies for the wait, no urgency, no one checking up on us. Food wasn’t worth the wait.

Service was very slow... Even tho our party was booked weeks in advance. Had to wait hours for our orders.

Probably the worst dining experience of my life. We were a party of 10 with a reservation and waited for 2 hours before the food even showed up. Service was equally terrible.

As an individual (Black Woman) deeply rooted in the diverse cultural Greater Toronto Area, my recent visit to Il Tartufo on December 5, 2023, left me disheartened for several reasons that highlight the imperative for inclusivity and respect within the hospitality industry.Upon my arrival, I was ushered to my table by the mature (Caucasian with long white beard) male owner, whose interaction with me lacked the expected warmth and hospitality. Despite being the first to arrive, my presence seemed to warrant only minimal acknowledgment. This initial impression was reinforced when, moments later, my male colleague (Caucasian) was warmly greeted, offered assistance with his coat, while I was left to manage my own without the courtesy extended to others.Following arrival of my female colleague (Caucasian) further highlighted this disparity in treatment, as she, too, received the gracious reception that had been noticeably absent in my experience. An unfortunate continuation of this trend was evident during our meal service. The owner selective engagement solely with my colleagues regarding their preferences for additional condiments without extending the same courtesy to me was particularly disappointing.Ironically, as a professional immersed in the realm of Human Resources, specializing in fostering inclusive environments, it was evident that the owner lacked an understanding of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) principles. This oversight in acknowledging and embracing diversity within the establishment clientele is not only off-putting but also reflects a critical need for cultural sensitivity and training.Regrettably, based on this encounter, I find it challenging to commend Il Tartufo to others. My rating of 0.5 out of 5 reflects the significant shortfall in providing a welcoming and equitable dining experience. I sincerely hope that this feedback prompts the necessary introspection and proactive measures toward cultivating an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates diversity, so ensuring a more welcoming environment for all customers.

Me and a coworker went out to eat here as we were thinking of getting italian food and it was near my hotel. It was a little off putting that we were the only ones sitting in the restaurant but maybe it was just a fluke. The food was very good! Had the Fusilli di Pollo and really enjoyed it. Also had the bruschietta with cheese which was okay but not amazing. The wait staff was very attentive and came to our table often refilling our glasses and checking on how we liked the food. What we weren't aware of is that they charge you for water and presumably they charge by the bottle. Both me and my coworker paid 7.50$ each on both our bills when we had no clue it was being charged for. Next time it should at least be mentioned before dining that water isn't complementary. Plus the service staff kept filling our cups often because they made us use two bottles instead of one.Probably not going back only so I don't have to pay for water.

Delish Italian food and great customer service. The restaurant itself is a bit outdated but it’s a nice quiet restaurant, good for conversation over lunch/dinner.
