They put plastic inside the sushi roll cutting my upper lip and my husbands. I’m so disgusted by the handling of these rolls.

Ordered takeout for the first time. It was well packed. Foods were fresh and tasty.
We recently visited Kibo Sushi House at Square One Food District and had a disappointing experience due to poor service. One of the waitstaff, a woman with red hair, glasses, and a tattoo, was tossing utensils carelessly and displayed a rude attitude toward multiple customers, including us. She seemed disinterested in assisting diners and ignored common courtesy.
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was fine, but the lack of professionalism from this particular staff member negatively impacted our visit. We hope the management addresses this issue to ensure better service for future customers.
Extremely poor experience at square one location. No stars should be given!! Before ordering, asked the male server if we could use their restaurant gift card and he said yes. Then when the bill came, gave him the gift card and he went to ask the female server, then she came out from the kitchen and told him couldn't accept because of the issue with POS and could not accept partial payment!! Hello, i asked before ordering and now they told me we could not use!!! And she said the male server is only part time he doesn't know. Is that our, as customers, problems??!! You should well trained your employees and shouldn't misinformed customers. They represent your restaurant, they trained to upset customers?? You sold your gift cards to public and they paid you upfront. Now because of your machine problem, customers are the one who suffered! What a rip-off Kibo!! Honestly, this is the second bad experience in addition to other location at Hurontario!! I gave them a second chance but they ruined it once again!! This franchise restaurants have huge issues and should be avoided!!!
The 2* is for the poor service but the food itself was great. We usually grab the takeout from the market side when we walk by but decided to sit down today to compare to the other Kibo locations.
The presentation was nice and no complaints about the fish. The rice was just slightly dry but overall I enjoyed it. I had the chirashi don and my partner got the sashimi B with sushi rice on the side.
Both of our meals came with salad and soup but she only gave us one salad and said it was for the sashimi B meal. We had to grab the menu and show her that both came with salad.
After that, she also forgot to bring the sushi rice that we ordered and we had to flag her down again.
We realized after we finished eating that they gave us 2 pieces less of the sashimi than what was advertised on the menu - 18 pieces instead of 20.
So all in all, there were 3 instances of not giving us something or enough of what we ordered.
I’d come again just for the food but don’t expect good service in the seated section, and double check everything that you ordered and check the receipt.

Worse sushi ever overpriced and it was extremely messy. Poor material and gave us so little wasabi for a party tray. The rice and what was it in was falling out, for 70$ it was such a waste of money DO NOT GO HERE!

Received terrible service at this location. The male cashier didn’t greet us, didn’t say a word during the transaction and when the transaction was over continued to look down and fold tissue paper and chopsticks avoiding eye contact and ignoring us. If you don’t enjoy being front of house/cash, asked to be moved away from customers. It isn’t hard to acknowledge people right in front of you, won’t be back.

Been here few times they never accept cash. Only reason is we don’t have change.

I'm mainly here to comment on the experience we got at this location. My friend bought take-out food from the attached market but we still wanted to order at the restaurant and eat. As soon as we walked in, the server looked at the food and did not even offer to seat us and said that we can't sit here to eat, even before we could say that we wanted to get a table. When we ordered and informed her of our allergies, she responded with "don't worry"???? instead of just ensuring us that she would inform the kitchen. What does “don’t worry” mean?? You're making me worried by saying "don't worry"!! She then brought us our food, and after about 5 minutes, we informed her that we needed chopsticks since she didn't give us any. SHE THEN PROCEEDS TO TAKE THE CHOPSTICKS FROM THE TABLE NEXT TO US. WHICH HAD PEOPLE ALREADY SEATED AND ALREADY WAITING FOR THEIR FOOD!! Ma'am that's unsanitary and unprofessional!
My friend and I also got the same roll, while he ordered another on the side, both our rolls came together as one roll but 2 portions, but we thought that was just my portion as she did not inform us anything. When we asked her where my friend's roll was, she THEN said that the one roll was for the both of us?? When we were ready to pay, we asked if we were able to split the bill, she hits us with another "✋🏼DON'T WORRY🤚🏼". Amazing! Our experience was basically half eating, and half the time trying to get her attention because she would not stop talking with the kitchen staff.

The food, was the true star. Kibo Sushi offers an impressive variety, from classic sushi rolls to inventive specialty options that push the boundaries. The fish was incredibly fresh, practically melting in my mouth, and the balance of rice to fish was spot on. They also have an excellent selection of appetizers; was a perfect start to the meal.
One thing I really appreciated was the attention to detail. Every dish came out with impeccable presentation, showing the care they put into each plate. The portions were generous, and they offer a great selection of sauces and condiments that allow you to personalize each bite.
Overall, Kibo Sushi exceeded my expectations. It’s a place I’d happily return to, whether for a casual lunch or a special dinner. If you love fresh, high-quality sushi and Japanese cuisine with a creative twist, Kibo Sushi is a must-visit!
