Goated spot for big back desert eaters

We spent a few hundred dollars on an engagement cake and it was subpar. The exterior looked nice, however it was dry, and there was way too much icing. The inside flavour was not good at all. The delivery was also 45 minutes late, when we had guests arriving. Not to mention - once the cake was delivered, they did not leave a box or any thing to put the remainder of the cake in when leaving the hall. To note, we went for a cake tasting, and while we were waiting, the worker offered us complimentary coffee, to only after be charged. Unfortunately I will not be a returning customer.

EDIT: I'm updating my review to give La Casa Dolce the recognition they deserve for their exceptional customer service. After my initial experience, the team reached out to me and went above and beyond to make things right. The person I spoke with was genuine, kind, and apologetic, offering a thoughtful gesture to make amends. I appreciated their willingness to listen and implement changes to prevent similar issues in the future. Their proactive approach and commitment to improvement was really thoguhtful and appreciated.

What truly impressed me was La Casa Dolce's strong commitment to remediation and customer care. They demonstrate a genuine willingness to listen to customer concerns, take responsibility for mistakes, and make things right. This experience has taught me the importance of giving businesses a chance to fix things when they go wrong, and La Casa Dolce has set a high standard for customer service. We ordered our wedding cakes from here. I called to order because on the online ordering form we couldn't find a spot to add writing on the cake. We were ordering two cakes and on the phone I clearly stated I wanted a strawberry cheesecake 'cake' which is an option they have on their website. I felt we were both on the same page on the phone and the total after everything I ordered seemed right. When we showed up they had made one of the cakes and just a strawberry cheesecake not the 'cake' version which is very eye catching and matched our wedding colours (the reason we ordered it). They didn't offer any real remediation and I was stuck with the cheesecake. They said they do not normally make that cake for the counter so they did not have any extras in stock. I feel if you are going to offer something so close in name to another product to clarify with the customer and make sure you have the right cake in mind.

I’ve been coming to this place regularly for the past eight months, often on weekends with my family. It used to be one of our favorite spots. Unfortunately, as of today, I’ve decided not to return.

What pushed me to write this is what happened today. I stopped by to order a croissant and an espresso. There were only two butter croissants left, both clearly overbaked and almost burnt. I politely asked if they would be making more, and the response I got — in a rude tone — was, “That’s all we have, sir.” That’s when I decided I’m done with this place.

The service has declined so much that it’s honestly disappointing. I used to order a simple custom sandwich for my son, and last time I asked for it, I was made to feel like I was asking for something outrageous. They no longer make it, and the attitude I received made me uncomfortable for even asking.

I’ve also been served butter croissants that were microwaved. If you know even a little bit about croissants, you know that microwaving them ruins the texture completely. For nearly $4, I shouldn’t be eating something that feels like rubber.

Espresso quality has also dropped. What used to be smooth and enjoyable now tastes bitter and cheap. Almost every time I’ve ordered espresso, it’s been spilled in the cup and served like that. Most of the front staff seem lost, with the exception of Audrey and a few others. The managers walk around with no warmth, smile, or engagement, and frankly, it’s not a welcoming environment anymore.

It’s disappointing because I live just two minutes away and used to love this place. But after several chances, I’m done. I won’t be coming back, and neither will anyone in my circle.

Their iced coffees, iced hot chocolate etc is so amazing. I think if you opened a drive thru you’d get a lot of people quickly wanting to pick up a drink before work + a bakery item. Their croissants are amazing. I really wish there was a drive thru

My husband stopped here several weeks ago and brought home some really tasty cannoli and he said he had an amazing espresso. . .
We stopped by last week and while the cannoli were delicious neither of us enjoyed the espresso. My husband said it tasted different than what he had last time and opted not to ask for any beans to purchase for home. Let’s just say that the bitter taste of the coffee left us bitter. We wanted to love this place but probably won’t be back.

The customer service at this coffee shop is outstanding, and the atmosphere has a charming, European-style vibe. I always enjoy visiting, and Penny consistently goes above and beyond to make the experience exceptional. She’s truly wonderful!
