I honestly don’t understand where all these good reviews are coming from. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. The waiters look at you with such condescension, like I walked in off the street. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m young and they don’t think I’m going to spend money, or maybe there’s some other reason. But when you try to be nice, smile, and have a friendly conversation, and they practically throw the plate at you, it’s just very strange. I genuinely don’t even know how that’s possible.
As for the food, it was pretty ordinary. The desserts weren’t good, but the meat was actually good.
Three stars just for the interior.

If I could give the food zero stars, I would. Bread tasted like cleaner and the broccoli tasted like shrimp. 🤢 Steaks were average at best. Do not recommend.

I booked this restaurant for Valentine's this year. Not impressed at all with the venue given this price point especially compared to the likes of other similarly tiered steakhouses.
Upon arrival, the restaurant boasts a great view from the outside and finding parking in their designated lot was easy.
We arrived 15 minutes prior to the reservation and were met with with a line of other patrons upon entering. Although, I was not surprised, I did not expect the lack communication from the staff. Upon meeting the front desk, the lady told us that it was not 8:00pm and to see her then. We were shook, the time was 7:57pm?! The other patrons remarked they were told the same. I rejoined the line and joked with the other patrons that it would now be past 8 upon being greeted again. Arriving, now the second time at the front desk, we were then told they were not ready for us and to wait once again. I asked where and I was told in the same area or in the bar. As to not take up further space we moved to the bar area again where many other patrons were. They were not serving drinks and we were otherwise sitting ducks.
There was obviously no clear system as to how they were finding and seating those with reservations that night. We were approached twice asking if we were the 'Rodriguez' or some other family name. Way to label us because we're brown... Anyways at almost 9:00pm we were then brought to another waiting area and then finally rushed to our seat.
Of the three servers that then came to our table that night, only 1/3 even seemed remotely attentive to our table. The main server did not inquire into our night, if we'd been there before, what they were offering... Only if we were ready to give them our money (make an order). We put in an order and eventually also received stale bread to curb our hunger in the meantime. The server consistently aggressively dumped plates and the food on our table without regard
There was no attention to finished items or checking in on how we were doing. The food was mid at best and definitely not worth the time.
We eventually flagged a server down for the bill afterwards and paid our bill. It was around $400.
It is completely unacceptable for a restaurant to be charging this amount of money for the subpar food and experience that was offered. I will not be returning to this restaurant ever again
Instead I will go to where one is actually appreciated like Jacob's in Toronto. The only good thing about our experience that night was each other and the actual architecture of the building. Save your time and take your business elsewhere.

Vintage steakhouse feel. Baked potato wasn't up to par. Service is exceptional though.

First time ever last night. Extremely busy night. Food was excellent, service seemed a bit rushed. But expected, I think they said they were expecting over 500 people in total last night. I'll definitely go back.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and Valentine’s Day yesterday at La Castile. This was our first time visiting and I have nothing but positive feedback from the time we walked in, to when we left. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. We will definitely celebrate more occasions at this restaurant. Thank you so much for making this a memorable experience.

Just visited this restaurant for Valentine’s Day and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with both the service and the food.
We had a 9:15 p.m. reservation but weren’t seated until around 10:00 p.m. It then took over 30 minutes for our server to come take our order, and the service throughout the night was neither friendly nor attentive. We didn’t receive our meals until 11:00 p.m.—almost two hours after our reservation time.
My husband and I both ordered baked potatoes with our meals, but when our food arrived, we were told they had run out. About five minutes later, however, the couple seated beside us was offered a baked potato, and we watched one being brought out to their table. That was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
Overall, the service was extremely poor, and it was clear the restaurant was not prepared to handle the Valentine’s Day rush.

Restaurantji Recommends
The food was amazing (French onion soup is a must) and our waiter was a sweetheart. But we reserved for Valentine’s Day and were seated 45 min after our reservation time (along with a whole line of people) with no compensation for the wait. But the real ick were the two girls working coat check who were blatantly talking bad about customers and barely acknowledging anyone. Super rude and should not be client facing. The restaurant is really beautiful and still recommend - I just wish there had been a more professional and polite approach to making people wait 45 min for a time slot we reserved a month ago

The food is very dependable and consistent, great taste, portion size which equals great value. Great atmosphere as well. The service is good most times, just not as consistent as the food, still one of our regular dining stops.

Went there to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday.
The shrimp cocktail was really good, but the escargots were disappointing. The filet was very soft, but not quite worth the price in my opinion. The New York steak was just okay.
The building itself looks very cool and has a nice atmosphere. However, the service did not meet my expectations for a restaurant at this price point. After being seated, we waited about 25 minutes before anyone came to take our order. No one checked in to see if we were ready, and it was difficult to get a server’s attention. It seemed like they were busy, but we felt a bit overlooked. A group that arrived after us (sit next to us) was served about 10 minutes before we were, which was confusing.
Overall, it felt like you’re paying partly for the impressive building and ambiance. If you enjoy the custom-style grilling, it may be worth trying, but in my experience, the food and service did not quite match the price.
