I came to Max's diner because I was driving from Toronto to KW, and the traffic was horrendous because of the weather. I was hungry and looked for places nearby, and Google had it listed as a Filipino restaurant/diner. I was craving some Filipino food, and I love diners, so I thought why not? I get there and it's an old school diner pub, where there are plenty of booths and a bar area to sit at. The menu is handwritten on a board above the bar. No Filipino food on the menu... Just a small menu with staples that are typical to a small Mom & Pop diner. I was hungry and needed to wait out the traffic, so I decided to stay. I'm glad I did.
The woman behind the bar was super friendly and the service was great. I ordered a bowl of chili that was hearty, hot, and delicious! When I go to diners I normally get a BLT. This one was perfectly toasted with the perfect amount of lettuce, tomatoes, and the bacon was nice and crispy. I did ask for them to crisp the bacon, and they cooked the strips perfectly.
The atmosphere was quiet because it was a week night, but there were some locals there and they were enjoying a game on the TVs above the bar. The washroom was clean. It was a nice place to stop and enjoy a relaxing, tasty meal, and if I'm ever drving through the area again, I will definitely stop by. Thanks!

Great place good people and the food is great especially the Steak sandwich!
Burger was quite good, looks a little overdone in the pic but it wasn't, was a good size and decent overall. Poutine was ok, fries were good and gravy was good, needs more cheese though. Was wrapped in foil which was a bit odd, but didn't stop me from enjoying it. The lady working there seemed nice.

My boss bought me lunch. Awesome gesture! Couldn’t eat it. Worst Greek salad I’ve ever had. Way too sweet. Wilted lettuce. Stay away and hit McDonald’s. At least you get what you pay for

Dave (owner) is very difficult. Alice (server) is quite nice. I can't eat mushrooms, and Dave knows this as we used to be regulars. He gives me shit and feeds me mushrooms anyway. Haven't gone there in over a year but thought I'd see if anything has changed. Nope. I ordered a Ceasar souvlaki salad and I get a greek salad with the sweetest Greek dressing I've ever tasted for over $20. They're such dicks to customers I can't even try to get it corrected without expecting to have the food spit on this time and every next time. Maybe I'll try again next year. Not.

Always amazing food and service when I go here. There schnitzel is amazing if you ever get the chance to try it. This trip i tried the chicken burger. And wow, it was incredible with the charbroil flavor that punched me right in the taste buds.
