Even though we had a reservation at Moxies Square One, we still had to wait over 20 minutes for a table. While waiting, my friend took her 2-month-old baby to the washroom to change his diaper, and something truly disturbing happened. A strange woman—clearly intoxicated or high—approached her and tried to touch the baby. My friend texted me to come help, and when I arrived, the same woman began harassing us while my friend was trying to change her baby. She even tried to hug me against my will. The entire situation was bizarre and frightening and we left the washroom as quickly as possible. I immediately informed the hostess about what happened. About 10 minutes later, a manager (who never introduced herself) came over and said that the woman's group had been cut off and asked to leave. She apologized for the incident, but by that point, the night was already off to a terrible start. Unfortunately, the service didn't improve once we were finally seated. Our server Natalia was brusque, inattentive, and rushed through everything. We waited again just to be acknowledged, and when she finally came, she hurried through the specials and left without taking a drink order. She never once checked on us throughout the meal, which only added to the frustration. To make matters worse, my friend found random pieces of corn in her rigatoni pasta (something that clearly didn't belong there). We literally had to flag down the server in order to get her attention, however it seemed she was spending a lot of time at every other table. We sent the pasta back, and the manager returned to apologize again. She tried to make amends by giving us each a $25 gift card (which barely covers an entrée at Moxies) and said she would speak to our server. She also offered my friend a complimentary dessert — the least that could be done after everything that had happened — but by then, the evening was far beyond salvaging.

Awesome birthday evening. Server was awesome. Food was above what was expected. Overall, an amazing evening.

Came today for happy hour as a treat. Took a minute to be seated at our table (perhaps 5-7 min) so we sat in the waiting area. While there, the person up at the front (a curly haired blonde girl) came and rolled out 2 carpets in front of the front doors. Unfortunately dust from the carpets was flying up in all of the faces of those of us in the waiting area, so that was not too nice. We eventually were taken to our seats and waited perhaps another 10 minutes or so to be acknowledged by anyone. There was a server (an older lady with long black hair tied in a ponytail) who came and took our orders which was for calamari, steak frites and tacos. She returned and brought us a plate with a steak knife in preparation for the steak meal. Problem is, the plate was visibly dirty with old food on it. I instantly told her the plate was dirty and she silently took the plate and handed it to someone. They walked in the kitchen, came back 1-2 minutes later, and brought out the same dirty plate and tried to give it to us. I had to flag down the server and show her the gross plate, to which she had no reaction. Again, she didn't say anything, just walked away with the plate. Then next thing you know, a whole other server came and said she'd be taking care of us lol. The food overall was great, however we did notice that the quality control on the vegetables was not good as there was old spinach in the steak's side salad, and old lettuce in the tacos. Nothing that we couldn't just pick out with our hands...but should we have had to when we're paying for a restaurant experience? I had not thought so... At this point we were not in the mood to keep complaining about things (since I had already complained about the dirty dishes and wasn't looking for problems). The manager (a very sweet lady with dyed blond hair) swung by and struck up pleasant conversation. Each time we come, she's always nice. Overall I'd rate today's visit 3/5 stars. Could have been better but not the worst.

I've worked in customer service in family businesses since I was 9. Restaurant industry for 20 years and our server (forgot her name -long dark hair ) was phenomenal. Professional, smart, quick, she knew how to balance timing, with our over chatting group and separate bills. She handled our party extremely well. She honestly is the best.

I had a great time and enjoyed the tenderloin steak, which paired well with the merlot. The atmosphere was top-notch and the service was excellent. Thanks for having me and I look forward to coming back again!

Had a New York steak - very flavorful and tasty! The super green salad is refreshing. Service is awesome that they know my favorite spot and bring me directly there. Very good vibes

Terrible service. No one picked up the plated after the appetizers, left main course and left. Forgot one of the main dishes, and eventually it came out when everyone was done. No one even came to refill water or ask for the drinks after the initial order. Our ticket was $300. Frankly, it wasn't worth a penny.

The food was fine and a good value. What impressed us most, though, was the incredibly friendly and efficient service.

Upon entry to the restaurant, we were received with courtesy and class. Our server and support staff, treated us with absolute respect and hospitality. Food was absolutely delicious, with attention to detail of the presentation of our dish. Excellent food, and superior quality of service.

My best restaurant experience no doubt. The service since the door to my table was incredible. These guys made feel welcomed. Rebecca the Mgr walked through the restaurant options with such a grace and walked me to the table. She didn't rush me into anything and was actually pleased with all the questions I asked her. By the time the waiter Michelle came to take my order, I was super ready and excited with the food I ordered - a first for me. And they delivered. ..... soooo delicious! It was one of their signature pasta the chicken madeira rigatoni! What an experience + they have a Happy hour discount for tour drink if you arrive after 9pm. Listen! I don't know if you guys feel the service in Canada is not like before but this Moxie at Square One gave me hope. Just go and see it yourself! Cheers for this team and James for keeping the good Canadian food and service!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Moxies Square One location. I called multiple times to place a phone order and was left on hold for over 15 minutes. So I decided to visit the restaurant in person. Upon arrival, I spoke to the host, who informed me she had checked with both the bar and the manager, but still, no one addressed my issue.

At the bar, I encountered two female bartenders who were engrossed in a conversation. I said hello, but they completely ignored me, which I found unprofessional as customer service should be a priority. I had to raise my voice to get their attention and explained how long I’d been waiting on the phone, only to be met with indifference.

This location’s service is shockingly slow and unprofessional. I strongly recommend avoiding the Square One Moxies and visiting any other location instead.
