Great place, kind and friendly wait staff, amazing bread bar. Heard of this place because of social media, and decided my family and I should give it a shot for a special occasion! We were celebrating my wife’s new workplace promotion and were astonished by the amazing atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Tons of variety in the menu. The calamari looked and smelled freshly made to order and tasted delicious. My wife had the Mafaldina with Truffle Butter, my daughter had the Mafaldina Alfredo, and I had the Penne calabrese piccante. The Penne calabrese piccante was a little cold, but did not bother me much. Definitely returning soon 🙏🏽
Kid-friendliness: Had a kid friendly menu, comes with an entree, drink, and dessert(which is so cute)

I didn't like the lasagna and my guy said the sea food linguini didn't have enough shrimps(1 shrimp) and scallops(4 little scallops) . I had to dig the lasagna out of some baking dish.

Our server Christine was absolutely perfect, provided her recommendation for the perfect wine to start our celebratory girls night. Did not mind skipping the dessert she literally was dessert, providing the most generous and sweetest service. Food was impeccable, thank you chef. To see that the it was Tuesday and still receiving fast, efficient service is music to my ears! Glad to see this type of 5 star experience still exists.

We ordered alfredo pasta with chicken, the pasta was too mushy maybe overcooked and sticky, the alfredo seemed more of a creamy sauce not the typical alfredo taste
Another order was pesto and goat cheese pizza it was very thin but the taste was average
Kids menu we ordered pasta that came with salad they dont have protein options its either pasta or pizza and the portion was too little
The all you can eat bread is not fresh which was not the best
Last we had 18% gratuity in the bill for a family of 4! Which i believe was a bit much for the slow service we had

Terrible food, despite good setting.
We ordered Linguine Alfredo and the pasta dish was underwhelming. In my 40 years of dining, I havent seen a chef use spring onion to garnish pasta. May be it is a thing, but, it didnt work. Also ordered pizza, it was wafer thin and salty. I dont think it deserved to be called Pizza, more like a flatbread.
I would not dine here again.
@Pacini/Nathan: The pizza can also disappear if you dump in the trash.Let the dishes do the talking.

Overall an excellent experience at Pacinis. The only minor issue was that it was busy and at times a little slow in between meals and getting our bill. Other than that, the service, the workers, the food was A+. Family-friendly and groups/special events friendly.
Kid-friendliness: We had 2 kids under 6 and they were happy with their meals. Family-friendly restaurant.

Nice ambiance & elegant looking.
Went here for a casual dinner and had a great time. Our server Christine was very hands-on and very welcoming! She knew what we needed before we even ask.
Food wise - portions are great! We had the salmon with pesto pasta & steak with truffle fries.
Ahhh delicious!
THE BREAD BAR WAS THE MAJOR PLUS++
Love the variety! Lots of premium butter such as: pesto, tomato and basil and garlic butter! We love this feature of the restaurant SO much! It's like the cherry on top of everything else.
In terms of dessert, highly recommend the cream cheese cassatta! Would come back again.

Terrible food. Lasagne made with canned sauce did not appeal to us. We had change table due to fowl smell. Even so, there was no concession for the poor atmosphere.

Avoid this restaurant - they overcharged us for average common spirits by double the amount and also added some to the bill that weren’t even ordered or served.
We held my daughter’s first communion there recently and my wife questioned the bill on the spot but reluctantly paid after all our guests left. The moment we were in a position to gather facts and tried to bring up the matter with the manager a few days later, she appeared to dodge our calls and didn’t return our messages. When my wife next went in person and brought up the matter, the manager was slightly condescending and dismissive as though my wife lacked honesty and credibility. We are a middle aged couple - my wife is a teaching professional and I an insurance professional. One of the servers even had the nerve to say to this effect: “It’s our word against yours” - an absolute lack of professionalism, tact and smarts even after presenting them with the facts. This was our worst restaurant experience. Mistakes can happen by staff, assuming we can even give them benefit of the doubt, but when there’s an opportunity to fix it, don’t throw it into you customers’ faces.
While their menu (see screenshot) indicates brandy is $8, we were billed $96 ($16 each) for 6 shots of St Remy, a common brandy, despite the fact only 4 was ordered and served. They only carry two brandys, St Remy and E&J… their menu doesn’t specify which brand costs x-amount but these are comparable brandys, with LCBO actually selling E&J as the more expensive of the two. The female manager/staff told us E&J is their cheaper bar rail brandy while St Remy was their “premium” brandy but this is an obvious sham. This resto has an off-menu hidden price of $16 for a single shot of St Remy? Ridiculous as it is shady. As a comparison The Keg, Moxies and Kelsey’s sells Hennessy cognac for only $10.
Other drinks (beer as an example) here are generally more expensive per glass than other restos but Pacini actually has 1 oz smaller beer glass volume.
Although we only caught this particular discrepancy on the bill that made us pay an additional $85 or so, which they very reluctantly refunded after the fact, I was confident that other non-existent drinks made its way onto the bill too.
Based on my wife’s 3 previous separate visits and our last, the food was just above average but given the prices, absolutely nowhere near worth it as compared to The Keg or Moxies or Chop. But when you consider their abysmal customer service as we experienced, this place isn’t even worth a washroom visit.
Follow up after initial review:
In Oct 2024 I got a Google email giving thanks for my review of Pacini Restaurant, where I previously had dined at, as it reached 1000 views and is “helping in a big way”. I casually re-read my review and corrected a punctuation or word. As a result, the resto “owner” replied again (see screenshot) but in such an unintelligent, classless and snarky way.
The uploaded screenshot doesn’t show their full reply but the owner also added something to the effect of they “… wish any other restaurant who deals with us luck” (but not us) in the future. This was their response, after we had rightly called them out for adding non-existent drinks to the bill and charging double the price for others, as well as telling them we’ll never be back to give them business. Somehow though, THEY have no interest in having us back? Dumb tit for tat.
The owner/resto didn’t “compensate” us when I came at a later date to collect as they falsely claim; they returned owed funds to us due to incorrect and what I believe were deceptive charges on the bill. Also, their need to mention us being compensated in any way is completely irrelevant to the point but if they feel it is, the so-called compensation (5%?) was discussed and agreed upon in advance by both parties; the resto pumping up the bill after the fact wasn’t.

Even though they were understaffed, the team managed everything efficiently and made sure every customer felt acknowledged and welcome. The food was fantastic – honestly, one of the best steaks I’ve had! It stayed juicy and warm, even after several rounds of bread cooking. I loved the concept of a bread bar; it kept us entertained and made the wait feel short. It was a wonderful experience, and I’ll definitely be back! 💕
