This restaurant has always been my comfort spot, a place I’ve hung out at for years.
I still remember my first visit—it was dinner with a friend’s parents and a bunch of our friends, back when his parent was still alive. During COVID, the place became almost a second home. I started going so often that I became a regular.
These photos capture just a few of the dishes I’ve had there, though I’ve tried far more. To me, this restaurant holds a special place—it’s one of those rare spots that feels both familiar and comforting. They used to stay open until 4 a.m., which was perfect for me. I’d often go late at night when everything else was closed, just to have some quiet time to think. I didn’t usually eat much, but I really liked their food—it matched my taste perfectly.
Over time, I tried almost every dish on the menu. Some became staples for me: the sweet potato pancake, chili-fried pork liver, deep-fried frog pot, fish pot, crispy chicken, beef jerky—okay, I admit, I have a thing for fried food! 😄
The service has always been amazing, but in a humble, effortless way. The staff are attentive and professional without ever feeling overbearing. There’s a cozy familiarity to this place that I can’t quite put into words. I truly miss it—I haven’t been back in about a year, and just thinking about it makes me nostalgic.

We ordered two non spicy dishes, tofu and beef, and they were excellent!
The quality, portion and price for the main dish was really good!
Thank you!

They serve mainly northern cuisine which is spicy and strong. Most dishes are salty and over seasoned. Service is average but not friendly at all. Price is on high side in comparison with other similar restaurants.
They have a bar serving special drinks but the area is messy at the entrance filled with carton boxes.

Worst experience I've got from Golden Square
The stir fried potatoes are tasteless
and have a look at the picture
THIS is spare ribs? I got a plate of bones with a bit of meat attached to it and it cost 20 CAD
What kind joke is this
Won't say the service is anywhere near good too
I'm sure there's a lot of places that can provide a way better dining experience

The food was delicious! We were a group of four—two carnivores and two vegetarians—and the restaurant had plenty of options to satisfy everyone. Some of the dishes were unique and new to me, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Service was quick and attentive, and the washrooms were spotless and well-kept. Prices were reasonable, with great daily specials

Decent restaurant, but both the quality of service and food had dropped significantly from 3 years ago. The food was okay, the waitresses would stare at you when you're eating, weird. Also the cashier was a bit rude. Did it change ownership?

Red Lotus Restaurant has the best dry hotpot by far. The flavors are bold, spicy, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of heat and seasoning. Every dish is packed with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back for more. If you love dry hotpot, this spot is an absolute must-try.

My wife and my favourite place to bring my in-laws while in Mississauga. Chinese food is their absolute favourite and this restaurant is a sure winner. The chef must be very experienced as they serve very well cooked and delicious Sichuan dishes. The cumin beef and sweet and sour chicken are stand out dishes, but we typically enjoy everything we order. There’s also a bubble tea shop on site which makes this place great for local hang outs as well. Good stuff!
