Riyasat Indian Restaurant and Bar

I'm extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this restaurant. The food was a major disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

1. My order of kadhai chicken with naan was botched. Instead, I got a chicken curry with naan that tasted horrible. I was shocked and disappointed.
2. The portion sizes were laughable. I had ordered three plates, but they were all tiny. We were still hungry after eating, so we had to order from another restaurant.
3. The food was unimpressive. The malai kofta curry was too sweet, while the chicken curry was oily and of poor quality, and the Veg Manchurian was also sweet and they mixed the rice along with it which I was not expecting.

I was expecting authentic Indian flavors, but what I got was a watered-down version. This was the worst dining experience I've had in Canada, and I won't be back.

We had a nice dinner tonight. The Kadhai Paneer was very good — great texture and a wonderful mix of spices. It was definitely our favorite dish. The Chana Masala was okay, but not as impressive.
Our server was very friendly and professional, and we really appreciated the great service.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we enjoyed the meal. 😊

Authentic taste + Worth the money 👍

If you’re looking for real authentic taste and flavor in punjabi food,this is your place 💕. I have been here twice now,first time ordered non-veg platter and we absolutely loved it specially tandoori momos,still remember the ultimate taste of it. I really want to express my gratitude to whole team specially Manpreet Bali and chef Pavitar Singh + Davinder singh so kind and humble. I am coming definitely back soon to try rest of the menu.

We ordered chicken biryani, lamb korma and butter chicken. The lamb korma was delicious. Biryani was okay but the butter chicken was too sweet. We just couldn’t eat it. We also tried chicken kadai it was okay. Wouldn’t go here again.

This was my first and absolutely last time ordering from here. When I arrived to pick up my takeout, I noticed the kitchen is completely open with no door, giving customers a clear view inside. What I saw immediately made me uncomfortable. The kitchen reminded me of those Indian street food vendors, with no real standards of cleanliness or hygiene in sight. Several employees had long facial hair with no coverings, no gloves, and no hair nets. It was not sanitary at all and I was genuinely skeptical about my food from that moment.
It had been a long day and I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and not judge a book by its cover. I took my food home and started eating. Mid meal I began to gag because something was in my mouth that was not food. When I pulled it out it was a curly black hair. I immediately felt sick and lost my appetite entirely.
I should have trusted my gut the moment I saw the condition of that kitchen. This is a serious health code violation and something that should not be taken lightly. The food itself was decent but that means absolutely nothing when basic hygiene and food safety standards are clearly not being met. I will never be ordering from here again and I would strongly caution anyone else before they do.
