We got the jerk chicken plate and 3 patties, it was honestly so good! Felt so homey and warm, perfect for the winter. The meat was so tender and juicy. Not sure if he was the owner but one of the staff members working there was so kind and warm! There was quite a long line and he felt bad for us waiting a bit so he gave us some patties. I would highly recommend this place.

Loved it! Had some Oxtail with some rice and peas, a pretty solid breakfast. Was hoping for Ackee and Saltfish but maybe I'll get lucky next time when the chef is there. I'm really happy my girlfriend's family loved their first experience there too. Awesome service and amazing food!

They came out with a Roywoods sampler, which includes fried plantains, oxtail, jerk/bbq chicken, rice and beans, and Mac and cheese. Everything I ate was amazing, the meal value was amazing, and the employees were very kind, especially Rico. Definitely recommend coming to this spot.

I visited Roywoods yesterday and wanted to share my experience because the service was truly outstanding.
While I was waiting in line, a woman tried to cut ahead and became very hostile when the employee politely told her he needed to finish my order first. She became upset and even shouted an obscenity at him, but despite her behavior, he stayed calm, respectful, and focused on helping me.
What really prompted me to write this review is how great he was throughout the entire interaction. Our son loved the peas in the rice, he was incredibly kind and accommodating.
When I came here today, I was surprised to see reviews that didn’t reflect what actually happened. I also noticed some comments that appear to be from the woman’s friends, but I encourage people to read all the reviews and look at the full picture. Their comments are not a fair representation of this company or of what actually occurred. I’m not sure what she told her friends or co-workers, but I know what I saw with my own eyes, and heard with my ears! It’s clear she has not been honest about the situation in her review. My experience was completely different, and the staff member handled everything with professionalism and respect. In fact, most reviews mention great customer service, which aligns with what I personally experienced.
I also noticed her name tag and will be contacting the store managers on Monday to make them aware of what happened.

We had a very upsetting experience at this store today with one of the black male employee/owner. My friend was standing at the counter, waiting to place order. There was also someone standing near the counter, but it wasn’t even clear whether they were ordering or just talking with the worker. My friend then tries to start ordering but suddenly, the owner shouted at her loudly, “Can’t you see I’m talking orders from another person?” Before that, my friend hadn’t used any rude tone or inappropriate language whatsoever.
she simply said, “Okay, then I won’t order anymore,” and was about to leave. The owner then started yelling at her like he lost control, saying things like “Don’t come back” with some bad words, while all other clients are watching about this nonsense.
What made the situation worse was that it felt like his attitude changed the moment he saw my friend, an Asian woman. It genuinely seemed like she was being treated differently, and the behavior came across as discriminatory.
If you’re having a bad day, don’t take it out on customers—especially in a mall environment where professionalism should be the minimum. If you can’t treat people with respect, maybe it’s time to find another job. Extremely disappointing experience and we will not return as he pointed :)

This was one of the worst and most shocking dining experiences I have ever had.
The food was absolutely disgusting — stale, not fresh, and tasted horrible. It was barely edible and completely unacceptable for any restaurant.
But the most outrageous part was the service. The server had an extremely rude attitude, yelled at customers, and displayed clear signs of racial discrimination. Their behavior was offensive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable in any setting.
No customer should ever be treated this way. I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this place.

I had a great experience at Roywoods today. I ordered the jerk chicken sandwich with a Coke, and the flavour was amazing—perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of authentic Caribbean taste. The service was also excellent. Rico, the owner, was welcoming and friendly, and Bri, the cashier, handled my order with great customer service and a positive attitude.
Overall, the food was delicious, the staff were professional, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend Roywoods to anyone craving quality jerk chicken
