Fast, cheap, quality Chinese food. Yes, it's cheap and good! You will be hard pressed to find prices like these with such generous portions. It's like if we're back in 2010.

The food is tasty and the price is even better. The Mongolian Beef was a little weird though but the sauce was great and Chili Chicken was delicious.

I was the second-last person on my team at work to get my replacement laptop. We switch out laptops every four years. Our laptops are leased. Technically, I could have arranged an early laptop pickup, but I was training two new folks joining my team. I couldn't drive over to the office and fetch my new laptop, as the pickup times didn't work out with my training schedule. To make a long story short, I was able to fetch my new laptop and configure it once I had delivered my training. I got a week to return my old laptop. I decided to head into the office on a Monday to drop it off. I let my team know about my dropoff. My manager wanted to have lunch with me. Perhaps he felt the need to connect with another human being, as we all attempting to go into the office once a week. My hunch is that he likes my company and hanging out with me. He asked if we could do lunch. I was game. I hadn't been to the food court with a bunch of Asian eateries, including Sea Star, since the pandemic started. Since my manager had a meeting at 2 pm, I suggested coming here because service is fast. He was game. We met in the office. He offered to drive us over. Yay! I still don't know the formal name of this mall, but it's a five-minute drive from work. We had no problem finding a parking spot. We then headed over to the food court. Most eateries that were there before the pandemic are still around now. I was happy. The lone sushi and Filipino eateries were closed for the day on Monday. We only had Chinese stands to choose from. We settled for Sea Star. We were both interested in Hong Kong-style cuisine. My manager went with the seafood special, with the seafood smothered in two sauces. He had a choice between rice or spaghetti, and asked me which one he should go with. I said spaghetti. He went with it. The man at the stall took down his order and disappeared. I had to wait for him to return. When he did, he completely ignored me and attended to a woman behind me. I will not be ignored! I let him know that I was next and had been waiting patiently. He apologized and finally took my order. Weird. I ordered the pork chop on fried rice that was smothered in two sauces. I didn't get a starch choice, probably because fried rice seemed fancy. I also got a Diet Coke. At first, I quietly panicked because you need to bring cash when you come to this food court. Luckily, I did have $20 with me. So rare for me to have cash. I was thankful that I did. We found a table on the opposite end of this eatery. We chatted and then my manager went over to check up on our order. He came back with both our orders, which I appreciated. I loved my food. You get a bone-in pork chop. I got two pieces that were battered and fried perfectly. The pork was tender and juicy. I liked the tomato sauce on top of the fried rice. I got peas, carrots, and corn on top. The white sauce was flavourless. I'm not sure if the point of this sauce was to break up the tomato sauce, but it didn't do much, other than coat the pork chop. The fried rice was good. I couldn't really tell if it was fried, because the sauces blanketed everything. I can say that the rice was fluffy and perfectly done. My manager loved his food. The seafood consisted of whole shrimp and fried fish. He got a lot of seafood and was happy. The spaghetti was al dente. He also didn't get the tasteless white sauce, but was content with the tangy tomato sauce. My food was roughly $12 with my drink. It's pretty good considering the quality and the amount of food that I got. I'd return to try more. Hopefully, the man will see me. (461)
