One of my favourite places, the staff is always friendly and they serve the best pancakes I have ever had! That is the first place I think about when I want to grab a coffee

I was avoiding leaving a review because I'm totally gatekeeping Studio 89 lol. It's become my fav comfort cafe. I've been coming here for, what, over a year now? Like, constantly.
The staff are kind and have made me consistently feel safe/walked me to my car when I was scared of someone potentially following me (just a guy with mental health issues). I know I usually come in here with my head down in total hermit mode lol working from my laptop, but 89 really is starting to feel like a community hub! <3
One request: please add proper gluten-free + halal options for food. I can't really eat anything else from the cafe rn (as a diagnosed celiac and a halal foodie) because there just aren't any options.
I'm so excited to bring my friends and family here one day! I still find the idea of a non-profit cafe so freaking cool.
P.S. matcha + cold foam? GODLY combo. thank youuu for introducing me to it

I really wanted to support small local business more often but at almost $7 per cup of regular latte, I think I will just stick to making them myself

highly recommend if you are looking for a study spot, small gathering space with friends, or a delicious, 100% vegan menu

This location serves good café drinks and is a nice spot for quick meals and study session with friends! There could be more seats but the locations atmosphere is very welcoming and bright.

We had a croissant sandwich, matcha, and some games. It was such a fun vibe with such good food/drinks. I would highly recommend and am sad we don’t live nearby because if we did, we would go there all the time! Updated from previous review on 2025-12-30

Welcoming none for profit cafe ran by the community. Warm and cozy environment, lots of outlets available. Music was a little too loud and parking is paid only. A little difficult to figure out how to exit underground parking. Will come back to work as it's a beautiful community initiative

Nice atmosphere, the area is nice, the taste is good. I tried a which mocha and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was extra sweet. But keep in mind they are vegan. I didn’t know. But it was good.

I love coming here to study! It’s very relaxing and the matcha is amazing, the staff is also super nice and attentive!:)
Whenever I come here to study, I see friend meetups and coffee chats, other students locking in during midterm seasons, and even see the community events and initiatives. This is truly a great space with great aims and I feel good about coming here knowing what they support
I alongside my friend decided to visit this tiny place, it has no free parking as it’s a part of a condominium building. So we parked at Erin mills mall and walked all that way only to find that it’s a tacky little place with stale food and horrendous drinks, we got a bagel sandwich and a strudel and gingerbread chocolate milk. All 3 items were so expensive and the taste was no good. The sofas are so uncomfortable and tables are so low you need to bend down to eat. To add to it, a homeless man came in and he sat on one of the couches and he was stinking of pee and poop and I just couldn’t breathe and had to leave this filthy place immediately. It was absolutely disgusting and disappointing place. Would warn people not to go to this place it’s dirty and rip off as well
