Waitress was really nice, welcoming and paid us attention when needed. I got the fish and chips, as well as the nachos. The nachos were great. However the fish was a huge disappointment, fries were good, but a small serving, and the fish looked great. Until cutting it open. It was mush, not sure if the oil wasn't up to temp or it was frozen for to long. But hands down the worst fish I've ever eaten. Do not get the fish and chips.

Not what used to be when it was at Dundas West of Constitution in Mississauga, it's sad because it used to be an outstanding place. The Canadian atmosphere has been changing negatively

My in laws took me out to dinner tonight for my birthday. I recommended this place as I had gone here all the time as a kid and have nothing but great memories. It has been quite some time since I have been and maybe my expectations were clouded by nostalgia but this experience was terrible!
They no longer serve the tortilla chips and salsa like they used to. OK, fine. Costs go up, things change.
The waitress did not write our order down. For a table of 6 that could be trouble.
My father in law ordered coffee and was given cream that had gone bad. First bad sign. Service was incredibly slow even though the place only had 2 tables with people at them. Every time we ordered something or asked for something it took forever to be brought to the table. The waitress spent most of her time behind the bar chatting to one customer.
Next, both of my in laws meals were cold. When we told the manager(?) he looked at us like he didn't know what to do about it. He took them away to heat them up but when they were brought back they were still only luke warm and now mushy. My father in law ordered poutine with his meal and they brought him plain fries. I ordered fries with my meal and was brought beans and rice.
My fajitas did not come out on a sizzling, steaming platter like I remember they used to always be brought out. The amount of meat and toppings that are provided are a joke for the price you pay. The tortillas are also not the same as they used to be. They don't seem like they're made in house anymore.
She did not ask if anyone else at the table wanted dessert...she brought my birthday cheesecake and then disappeared again.
The bill took another long wait to get and the server kindly pointed out to us that she did not charge for the fries. Of course you didn't, it's what I ordered and not what you brought me!
I will not be returning and that make me very sad. This place used to be amazing and I have such fond memories of the food, service and original location. This place is definitely not what it once was. I will not be returning and I will be telling all of my family to avoid it as well.

The staff were awesome but the food was a bit disappointing. A tablespoon of mashed potatoes and the steak was super thin.

Edit- I did not delete my review, it was removed somehow.
I only hope you read it and addressed some of the issues. One of the bigger ones was the fake disgusting cheese like product you serve.
I honestly can't remember everything else that was wrong but I know my family will never eat there again which is unfortunate as it used to be a favorite. Also some advice to owner when amswering to all the bad reviews sarcasm and deflection is not professional. Better off to just skip the replies.

I really miss the Dundas location which was just a great place to go. The former California’s location has a vibe/curse that just can’t be shook. Everyone is trying but it just doesn’t work.

Ordered potato skins with bacon, for takeout, they were burnt to a crisp the bacon would break your teeth, if I were a chef and I use that loosely, I would be ashamed to serve that dish to anyone even a dog

Have been at Texas Longhorn on many occasions. Never a negative complaint until now. The TexasLonghorn cancelled the Halloween Party with Latin Train 2 days before the event apparently because of the Jay's game . All patrons at the party I am sure would of celebrated with a cheer and celebrated with the non Halloween patrons every time the Jay's got a run. Very inconsiderate of the owner to cancel an event 3 days before the day.
The food , service and atmosphere in The Texas Longhorn has always been
excellent. I can only speak positive about the food and service but am very very disappointed that they have chosen to cancel this event with no consideration to the musicians as well as all the people whom bought or prepared their costume in preparation for this Halloween Party .
Trusting The Texas Longhorn will consider their decision as not the best one and will continue to hold special events in the restaurant where all your supporters can attend and enjoy
Thank you for your quick reply.
The issue is that the music for party goers who enjoy the band and the opportunity to dance was cancelled 2 days before the event. This could of been put on hold with a notification of the possibilty of cancellation last week not 2 days prior when the Dancers and music lovers planned their eve. Your choice was over the fact of listening to the game. That I understand but my issue is the short notice. Other bars with music on Oct 31 still going forward and still viewing the game. This is your personal opinion and on that note that is your priviledge. But disappointed that this choice was made at the last minute
I will still enjoy and attend The Texas Longhorn . I decided to express my opinion on the way this event was handled.
First time at this location, was a regular at their old location years ago. Not even close! Save your money. If I could give the food a zero I would.
Portions are scarce, fajitas are slivers of meat with barely any onions and peppers, charge you extra for stale guacamole. Sent my order back, never again. Waitress didn’t charge me my meal, but didn’t even attempt to eat it.
No soap in the women’s washroom, washrooms stink.
Be warned
In response to the owner:
You are correct, I didn’t pay for it, it wasn’t editable and the presentation was very poor. Your staff should communicate there are options for various meat servings. As well, clear out some of your hot bottle sauces as they look to be very old and options from dollarama don’t cut it. Provide people with sauce options. I don’t usually post negative reviews unless I feel it is warranted to advise people.
I have no issues spending money, but I want what I pay for and it didn’t suffice.
