Fantastic selection of treats and vinaigrettes.
And they play Sinatra music.
What more could you want from a baker / grocery with an Italian twist.

Truscott Bakery is a hidden gem in Mississauga, especially if you’re into Italian specialties. I stopped by to pick up a few ingredients for a homemade carbonara — they had guanciale, Pecorino Romano, and Grana Padano, all top quality and hard to find in regular grocery stores.
Love their chicken parm on a bun and the BBQ wings from the food take away section

We have been going to this bakery periodically for the last twenty years. In the last five years, quality and prices have taken a dive. Bread is airy and misses the mark. Picked up assorted pastries today, 6 for 25$. Disappointing, they look pretty but the taste is cheap and old, sorry Truscott but I’m afraid you lost me as a customer.
Rude staff...except cashier. Don't greet you. Waiting in line at the deli and bakery to be served and they walk away from you. Don't acknowledge you not impressed.

Nice italian store with chicken sandwich spiced as a Mexican one.
RACISM EXPERIENCE:
The server cum cashier seemed very hostile, rude and racist. Definitely noticed the difference in the way she spoke to us v/s others before and after us. Drove an hour to get there and spent a good $70, only to be treated like trash for not being of White ethnicity. They did not even have a manager on duty I could speak to. Definitely not going back. Not expected from Truscott bakery!

I have bought bread there, pastries, olives etc and they were all good. And then I bought 2 small cakes, which I was told were shortcakes with whipped cream. They were awful, full coolwhip, not whipped cream. At $30 each that was a waste of money. Very disappointed.
Added: last few times I bought bread its rather strange. Like eating cotton balls. I think they use too much yeast i guess so it rises quickly. But that messes up the texture. So while I love the idea of a lovely european café with some great items but bread and pastries are better and more authentic elsewhere.
The pumpkin pie was a big hit for Thanksgiving dinner. My go-to place when making a big meal and I'm just too tired to make dessert from scratch. I've never been disappointed!

I love their bread and buns. Haven't tasted this kind of bread from other bakeries.
They have high quality italian products.
I usually buy bread and occasionally other goods, they are all great.

Sitting on a patio enjoying a coffee and talking .
It was a great experience. People walked to the bakery and a cycling group stopped for their usual espresso and cannolis.
I had a chicken parmigiana sandwich and an apple fritter.
For Autumn
You would be missing out
If you did not stop
For an apple fritter..

I picked up the pasta of the day and a couple specialty donuts, and it all cost me less than $11. Everything was delicious, I'll have to be back to try their delicious looking pastries.
This spot is definitely worth checking out.
