Worst food I’ve had in a very long time, got the platter for 3 . The portion size was small but we all lost appetite as the the kebabs were not fresh, the food overall was stale. The only good thing was free tap water..that’s probably something they couldn’t mess up. Stay away from this

Grilled meat dinner was reheated, not freshly made. The flavours were good but everything tasted reheated. Beautiful location. Beautiful plate presentation. For the price range of $13-$25, I expect at least some of the food to be freshly cooked, not microwaved.

Checked out this Somali cafe to grab a coffee, read up on a book and get a bit of work done. I ordered a coffee lattee as well as a traditional side dish. I didn't have high expectations for the lattee, but I was indeed blown away by the quality and uniqueness of the coffee. Authentic Somali spices and flavors were integrated within the lattee. I tasted nodes of cinnamon and many other spices which made me appreciate the flavor. The environment is more of a "restaurant", however when I visited the place, it was nice and quiet which helped me focus on catching up on reading and doing my regular day to day work. Although I've walked by this place for years, I never realized it was a cafe as well a restaurant. The desert was decent (a bit too sweet for my taste), but overall it was very unique. I might stop by here again in the near future for another visit!

The best thing about this place is that it's always empty and they serve fast and fresh. Their chicken and date cake is worthy of my respect :)Good job owners and staff ?

This place is a gem and needs to be known to anyone who wants good food. The half chicken dish, chicken mandi, is one of the best flavored and tender rotisserie birds I've had in a while. Even better is the price. Everything we had here was fresh and delicious. Make sure to try the green chili sauce even if you're not a spice fan. It takes it to the next level!

The overall experience was good. The food for the most part was good. Would definitely recommend trying the Somali food more than the Mediterranean. Found the shawarma to be quite dry but the Beef Suqaar, Muufo and Beef Samosa were definite standouts. The date cake and honey ginger drink were good (I like gingery things so I liked the honey ginger and halwo). The service was excellent! The worker behind the counter was super nice. When they didn’t have any lamb fatayer left, they refunded it off our second bill without any fuss. Also, they had only one dessert left of a dessert that we wanted but it was broken. The worker saw jt and even after offering to pay for it multiple times, she refused to charge for it because it was broken claiming it was haram to serve broken things (70% of restaurants would have sold it for full price regardless of the brokenness). That definitely left a positive impact for me and it was quite humbling to see someone treat their patron like family in that sense. One thing to remember, if you plan on dining in, order at the front and they’ll serve it to your seat. They will require payment before serving but you can order in batches (we did a main and dessert/drinks order).Overall, as someone who has never had Somali food before, I really like Somali food and I definitely would recommend coming here for a meal. Great experience venturing beyond my usual comforts and will come back again.
