Editing review after response from the owner. Thanks for your rapid response and clearing up why there was a long wait. I've upgraded my review to 4 stars for your quick response with explanation. However, instead of expecting customers to tell you they are in a hurry (we were not but certainly were not expecting a 40 minute wait for a sandwich), maybe as a courtesy you could inform customers of the longer than usual wait time before taking their order. Had we known, we would have understood and just grabbed a pastry or something and left. Honestly we thought the first time was a one off so were taken aback that the second visit took even longer. All that being said, I must say the blt sandwich was probably the best I've had at a restaurant anywhere so kudos for that.
No complaints about the food as it is quite generous and equally excellent. However, we've been there twice and each time only ordered the blt sandwich. The first time it took 30 minutes and the second time it took 40 minutes. Not sure why it takes so long but make sure you have plenty of time to spare if you have any local appointments. We had a tee time at the golf course and just barely made it on time.

Stopped here for lunch and chose the basic burger with fries. It was the best burger I've had in a long time! Meaty, juicy and generous in size. Service was excellent. Delicious baked treats were also available for purchase. I'll be back!

The burgers were pretty good. Generous portions; I was very satisfied. They could use more fat and more char. Unfortunately it's 3 hours from home, and I was just passing through town. I may go back to have the pie, and I hear they're coming out with burnt basque cheesecake.

Quaint little shop with friendly staff. The varieties of drinks and baked goods is very disappointing as they don't serve lattes, cold brew or donuts. Even their hot chocolate is from a powder. From the outside, it is more appealing than what they actually offer.

Found this little gem on my way through Mitchell and I must say…absolutely amazing!!! I had the clubhouse sandwich on fresh homemade bread and it was by far the best club I’ve ever had…and Jill was very attentive and appreciative!!
Definitely a great place to visit when in the area!
I’m from Parry Sound and I’m contemplating driving the 3 hours again just to enjoy this special stop!! Last word…AMAZING!

Great food, fast service. Lots of big TV'S with the game on. Maybe a little less hovering when the guests are leaving , let us step away before the cleaning and table reset. Dated tables and seating but...

This place makes really good food. The menu is not anything complicated, sandwiches, soups etc. but even the Greek salad and chicken tenders with fries were amazing. The food takes a little bit longer to come out so if you have little ones bring something to keep them occupied. We look forward to returning.
Fresh bread and handmade sandwiches were all fantastic! We also had poutine and fish and chips. Everything was amazing! The desserts looked incredible. The dishes were all antique looking and very cute. Added to the atmosphere!

Had the best sandwiches from the Sugar Maple last weekend. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients, just absolutely delicious and HUGE. Highly recommend, and to top it off, the owner is simply a sweetheart.
