I catered the chicken souvlaki meal for 10 people for my daughters birthday on Saturday after reading all the reviews about how awesome the food and service is only to be disappointed. Instead of the food being delivered for 3:30 (lunch time) it came at 5:30. Gina did apologize but that was not enough on my end because the guests were hungry and continuously kept asking me when the food will arrive. I was so embarrassed because this has never happened before at my parties. Anyways, after we got the food two hours later I was further embarrassed because it had so much salt in it and tasted horrible. I don’t know how people have been praising The Nook Restaurant when for me the first impression was pathetic. I remember Sabby’s and their souvlaki, it was absolutely mouth watering and The Nook’s food was zero compared to any souvlaki I’ve eaten. Sorry to say but I personally feel owners should make sure they are giving their 100% and providing quality food and service specially if we are paying so much for an event we have organized rather than adding extra stress.
Who said you can't have quality and quantity in the same dish! Food was delicious, service was top-notched. Speciality pancakes awesome!
Vegetarian options: Primavera omelette, eggs Florentine, and salads, fruit cups
Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs, colouring for the kids, and treats in a treasure box for the kids
My husband and I were told by our kids that the Nifty Nook was a great place to enjoy a meal. Our kids both live in Orangeville and we live in Brampton. They had raved about the food at the Nifty Nook, so we finally dropped in for lunch. Kim was very friendly and helpful, the menu has so many great items that I needed help deciding what to have. I ended up ordering banana bread pancakes? and one cinnamon roll pancake?. I ordered the one cinnamon roll pancake because I wanted to try one, (it’s their specialty) but really wanted the banana bread pancakes. Both were sooooo good, the portions were huge so I ended up taking home half. Highly recommend this great, hidden gem, we will be back.
The last couple of times I've.visited here the staff have been incredibly rude. I'm also positive the owner is committing some sort of fraud as the debit is constantly "down" and she tells you to e transfer or do cash instead. Today I also found a HUGE hair in my food. I also overheard the owner Gina talking to her staff and she treats them like absolute garbage. Safe to say I will NOT be returning.
Great Diner, Staff are very friendly, food is awesome, they even offered me Marmite for my buttered toast. Our waitress Kayla took good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed for our lunch
Had a great breakfast this morning. Then realized I did not have my key fob, could not start my car. One of the wonderful staff members loaned her car to us to go home.and get our key fob. Couldn't get this service anywhere else.
Mediocre food (potatoes were OK, but cold) and very expensive. The door has a big display that seniors get 10% off. But when ordering was told this only applies on weekends. Nothing about that on the door. Also, the menu says that coffee is included with breakfast, but when paying was told that only applies on weekends, and so we were charged $3.50 for each of two coffees. Asked for rye toast, and was told that was extra $1.95! We ordered one bacon and eggs and one eggs with potatoes (no meat) along with coffees, rye toast and then and one extra order of toast, for a total of $39.60, before tips! Only reason I am not giving this one star, was that service was friendly.
Honestly our server was excellent, she was sweet and we had great conversations. But the quality of food was horrendous and they snuck in a gratuitary charge of 18%. I have no issues tipping but being forced to tip I don't like, not telling us you were planning on charging this kind of tip before we ordered is Insidious. Avoid at all cost people it seems this establishment needs to learn a hard leasson about respect and integrity
We got nifty nook for my daughter's birthday party this past weekend and the food was excellent! My family was very pleased. The portions were large enough to feed us all with leftovers as well. This is the 2nd year in a row we have gone to them and we will continue to come back. Thank you Gina and staff for everything
I arrived today, Sept 25 22, at 11:02 am starving. I went to the bathroom, washed my hands, and was directed to a seat by a young girl (server #1) who gave me a menu, asked if I wanted coffee (decaf, please - I have a heart procedure tomorrow) and left.Over the next half hour, I was asked three more times (twice by server #1) to eventually be told by S#1 there was no decaf coffee, they were out. I asked for a glass of water with lemon ("sure thing").At 11:29 am, Server #2 asked what I wanted. I said I was undecided between three dishes and asked what she recommended. Her response was the supremely unhelpful "whatever you want" and tells me she doesn't know anything about the menu items. She said the roast beef dinner (she called it "hot beef", which is another item completely) was on sale so I ordered that with fries and Greek salad.Five minutes later, she plonked a cup of coffee in front of me. It was 2/3 full and I could smell the burn before I picked it up. Six creamers in and it was still bitter and burnt tasting. I tried two spoons but couldn't trust that it was actually decaf so left it.At 11:45, I left, still starving, because I have work to do. Pretty sure there's a MacDonald's down the road.

Love trying new breakfast spots. Definitely the biggest and delicious pancakes thus far. All day breakfast and lunch, I really recommend the Hercules burger if your a Greek food fan ! Family oriented spot. Caring and clean waitresses just a overall good experience. Will be coming again soon
We were heading to Brampton and wanted to stop for breakfast and I remembered this place from driving bye many times so we gave it a try. My wife had the French Toast while I had the breakfast special which was 3 eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage & ham The food was delicious and filling and worth the wait, I would highly recommend this hidden gem just north of Orangeville on Hwy 10. Prices were reasonable and you leave with a smile, Gina - we will be back !
I have never had a bad experience like I did today even my husband said it was terrible. I had asked for sausages not sure what I bite into but it was gross . Everything was cold including my coffee. I asked one 1 waitress what kind of sausage it was she said and I quote "I don't know ".Well you should know you work there. The service was completely unprofessional & I know for a fact I will never go back.
Breakfast was delicious! Staff was really nice and the best was the cinammon roll pancake!
Local hero’s (during covid they held their community up) from feeding nurses, retirement home workers ….just so many amazing acts of kindnessThe amazing food, hospitality- Gina hand delivering family meals over the holidays- and even cooking off menu items ( trays of grilled and fried calamari) during the holiday season…. I simply can’t say enough good things about this community gem.
