We came to the airport at 2pm for our 4:25 flight. Ordered 2 adult beverages from Fairweathers brewery (glad they used local brewery) then we purchased sandwiches for our flight. Heard our flight got delayed and ordered 2 glasses of wine. Then our flight got delayed another 2 hours so we ordered another 2 glass of wine and West Jet offered vouchers so we purchased snacks for the resort and flight. When I asked for a few ice cubes for my water container the manager wanted to charge me for ICE CUBES!! I was very disappointed and disgusted! That is just rude! I tipped each time we had service and to ask for a few ice cubes for my small water container just seemed out of line! Not impressed DETOUR!

I've had decent service and experience here before, but today I purchased a single can of pop. I asked for a cup of ice, but they said they couldn't provide any as they were low. They had to purchase ice from a local gas station. At a surprising 4.50 (not marked) for a regular can of pop I think they could have sprung for some ice!

What would you do??I do a ton of flying out of Hamilton. This trip my flight was delayed by 5 hours. The airline gave me a $10 food voucher. When I chose to go to Detour, for a coffee, muffin and cheese, it was .10 cents over. When I said I didn't have change and didn't want to put .10 cents on credit, I asked if they had .10 cents. They said no.However, their tip jar was full of change!When I asked if I could have .10 cents 2 of the 3 batista said no. And were so rude about it! --- I was so shocked by their no, I told them to cancel my order.As I continue to book flights out of Hamilton in the weeks and months to follow, I won't return to Detour..10 cents. Wow.

Staff is not very friendly, food is sloppy and quite over priced. But they know they can price gauge due to being in an airport.

The manager of the Hamilton Airport Detour Coffee was so incredibly rude, freaked out on me because I wanted to peek at food selection while it was being stocked. Yelled at me to give her two minutes, completely uncalled for, I’d rather starve than give my money to this establishment.

Best airport food shop/bar I have been too. Cappuccinos, fresh sandwiches, other healthier snack options, and great service. And local craft brews on tap too!The other option is Timmy's which is terrible.It is too bad more airports don't have this type of shop.The prices were reasonable for an airport. $5 for a large cappuccino is not bad in comparison to Pearson airport.They also have a great little supplement drink called "sick day". It is delicious and it has echinacea and other goodness in it.

Rude employee, I asked to confirm I could take 2 beer cans on flight with me. Instead of a simple, yes, but we cannot sell until 9 am, I get attitude. Why have ‘grab & go’ beer out when you can’t purchase until 9am? And then claw them out of my hands over the counter, as if I’m trying to steal them?When suggested to put a sign out, she replied “No, it’s just a verbal.”Hard to give ‘verbals’ when you’re not even there sweetheart!

Best Airport coffee and snacks that I have ever had. Friendly staff and the decor makes for a pleasant experience while waiting for a flight. 5 stars all day!

Open as of March 2021- I can’t tell you how happy I was to see that detour was in YHM. The flat white was awesome and so was the warm breakfast burrito. I was particularly impressed with the staff. She was so kind to everyone, even when a child spilled soup all over the counter and floor. Everything was great!

Was there March 12 around 5AM at Hamilton Airport.I ordered a sandwich from one of the two staff working there (female). She was rude and when I asked for clarification regarding something she said she repeated the exact same thing in a slow, condescending tone, which I found racist and unhelpful.
