Neat little place in terms of decor. Very limited menu which is okay but portions were small for the price. Service was slow even though we were one of three tables there. Overall food was tasty.

Booked a cottage on newboro lake for a week, decided to take the family out for on dinner, and we cane upon the Post and Beam restaurant, a 3 minute drive from the cottage.
I have to say, I was blown away!..
The food was epic (was told Mike is their chef), and the service was amazing as well.
This was as close to a home made feast you would expect to have at “grandmas” place, as anything I have ever had!…
The prime rib was succulent, the pan fried haddock was perfect, and the honey made raspberry and apple pies were delicious!..
What a find in Newboro, I highly recommend this gem, and we will be back!…

Great food in a warm, friendly atmosphere. I think my favorite of the many fine breakfasts, lunches, and dinners has to be the fish and chips.
Dietary restrictions: Just tell the waitstaff and they'll accommodate.

Great spot for a bite! The Ruben sandwich was delicious.
I had a great experience at the Post and Beam. For some reason it took about 10 minutes extra for my food to come out while the rest of the table ate but aside from that minor snafu everything was really great. The patio was gorgeous and the food top notch.

We love feeling like we've traveled back to a simpler time. This place is all about the history and fishing in the Rideau Lakes with decor and ambiance that hasn't changed in 75 years. This is where we go for "comfort food" and it never disappoints.
