DO NOT buy your eggs here. I worked at river valley poultry farm for a week in 2020 and the keep the chickens in HORRIBLE conditions. They have a “hospital” cage where they put injured chickens to just die rather than getting them help. No bottoms on the cages so most birds have broken legs and are just left in the cages to suffer . 10+ birds to a tiny cage . AGAIN DO NOT SUPPORT THIS FARM . Incredibly inhumane egg farmers . Not to mention the woman who runs / owns the farm is a nasty/unpleasant woman to work for . Would give 0 stars if I could

I lived in Newburgh for almost 3 years and it was my first time visiting the Egg Basket a few weeks ago. I was impressed by how quaint the shop was. I ordered 2 dozen of the double yoked eggs for only $4.25 each. I was impressed by the price and the size of them. Also, they are delicious!!

Looking for an alternative to store bought eggs. We've tried all brands with different bad results. They just don't agree with my girlfriend. So after many years of ignoring roadside eggs for sale, I Googled organic eggs, several places, but upon calling, no answer or closed. So I tried The Egg basket. 15 minutes later, I was buying double yolk eggs. To my surprise, they were half the price of the store bought. As soon as we got home, the first double yolk egg hit the hot pan with butter. No funny smell, looked good. I've bought eggs, and upon cracking them, been hit with an ammonia smell, yucky. None of that here, salt & pepper, down the hatch. Tasty. I'm still on the search for organic, pasture raised chicken eggs. But this, girlfriend having suffered no ill effects is a for sure bet if you need eggs.

Excellent egg sandwiches, absolutely beautiful. A lovely little farm shop, staff very helpful and nice. Very impressed by the locally produced gifts and foodstuffs. Will be trying their meat next. Eggs are great quality and inexpensive.
Wonderful friendly people. Amazing eggs! It is not a restaurant, but besides eggs you can buy homemade excellent frozen soups and lasagna to heat at home. They also have a selection of locally made jams, honey, beef cuts and other gift items.
