My recent visit to Cabin at Hockley Valley was, without exaggeration, the most exceptional fine dining experience I have ever had. This restaurant isn't just serving food; it’s providing a complete, exquisitely hand-crafted culinary journey that left me speechless.
Every dish was a testament to the chefs' dedication to fresh ingredients and eloquent presentation. The slow roasted lamb tagliatelle was rich and perfectly balanced, the pork croquette was incredibly prepared and executed, and the finale—the crème brûlée—was a classic done to perfection. The quality of preparation made it clear that everything was made fresh with passion.
The atmosphere itself is immaculate. The decor, combined with the intimate lighting, creates a beautiful, cozy sanctuary that makes the dining experience feel incredibly special and private.
However, what truly elevates Cabin above any other dining establishment is the service. Specifically, the attention and care provided by Annette were above and beyond courteous and friendly. Annette single-handedly transformed our evening into an experience that felt less like dining out and more like being a beloved guest at home, conversing with a dear family member. Her warmth and professionalism were the perfect capstone to an already perfect meal.
Cabin at Hockley Valley is a must-visit destination. The combination of spectacular food, beautiful ambiance, and truly genuine service is unparalleled. We will absolutely be returning!

I recently had the chance to visit the place, and overall, it was a really pleasant experience. The menu has a nice range of options that cater to different tastes, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming.

Very impressed with their gluten free options. The staff was very accommodating for celiacs.
The grilled octopus starter was near perfect, very tender. The complementary salmon tartar and ice cream between courses paired very well with the meal. Handmade pasta was tender and flavorful yet the red sauce was a bit lacking in depth. The Halibut was the best I've had in North America and it's paired white sauce (dill cream) was perfection. The appetizers are encouraged to be shared and the portions although pricy are large and filling and very well crafted. There is live traditional Italian music played during mealtime which was nice and relaxing while we ate. Service was excellent.

We stayed at Hockley and were so excited to try the restaurant. It did not disappoint! Our server, Craig was incredibly helpful with wine choices and gave us great recommendations for each part of our meal. It was so enjoyable to interact with someone who clearly loves food and wine. The food itself was DELICIOUS. The scallops, divine, the capon, wow, tiramisu, heavenly. Honestly, the scallops made me reconsider the food that I thought was delicious up til now. It was very fun to be able to see into the open concept kitchen and hear them working together too.

The service was excellent — our server was warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome, as did the rest of the staff. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the food. While we understand that a longer wait can happen, especially with a group of six, the food that eventually arrived was underwhelming across the board.
Every dish we ordered felt mediocre at best, lacking the flavor or quality you'd expect for the price. On top of that, the portion sizes were surprisingly small, leaving us a bit unsatisfied. If you're planning to dine here, you might want to have a snack beforehand — or set your expectations accordingly.
Great service, but the food just didn’t measure up.
Is not what it once was. Not having Californian wine is absolutely ridiculous. I will never drink garbage Ontario wine over Californian, having to order a bottle when I wanted a glass is obscene. That’s bad business for a supposedly upscale facility. The food was subpar, and the temperature was cool. Service was slow at best. Had 3 apps, and 3 entrees, was still hungry after the meal.
Over the decades, as local residents, we have dined and entertained frequently at Cabin. Admittedly, I am embarrassed to have invited a dear friend and business associate to have dined with us. The decline in the physical facility, staff training, and absent standards within the kitchen is deplorable. I cannot foresee a circumstance that would have us return.

Came here in the summer 2024 for a girls weekend and were looking forward to dinner here. The food was amazing. The service was the worst service I’ve ever had. Our waitress took our order and then never returned to ask how food was, ask for more drinks, fill water, etc. The bill was wrong and she tried to fix it 3x. It was still wrong so me and my friends just sorted it out ourselves. Our waitress said she was going to bring over the manager and we waited for 30 mins for the manager to not show up. We spent $500 and we will never be back.
Dinning at The Cabin at Hockley Valley resort used to be wonderful culinary experience. In the past our family frequented the resort for amazing and memorable Sunday brunches and dinners with business associates, family and friends. It was considered upscale, fine dining. Not anymore.
Last night my husband and I decided to have a dinner out and give the Cabin a try again. The decor in the Cabin is looking tired and dated. Service was fine but nothing special. The cheese board was disappointing as was the green salad that was a simple bowl of assorted greens with a uninspired dressing. Our mains were shockingly disappointing. The red snapper was terribly over cooked and dry, difficult to even get my fork through. My husbands tenderloin special was anything but special.
So sad to see the Hockley Valley Resort and the Cabin going down hill. It use to be a place we were proud to have in our community. We will not recommend and will sadly not be returning.
There are several fine dinning choices in the area, The Cabin will need improvements if it wants to compete.
Absolutely loved my experience at the Cabin during my stay at Hockley Valley! From the moment we walked in, the cozy ambiance instantly made us feel at home—perfect after a day on the slopes. The service was exceptional; our servers (Anette and Jarek) were friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. The food? Incredible. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, especially the Osso Buco. It was the perfect way to warm up after a cold day outside. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and a relaxing atmosphere while at the resort! Will definitely be back.
I will start my review by saying this was the second time we have been to this restaurant. We came back because it was excellent. We brought our friends here and we were disappointed. Portions were kid size and the food salty. We ordered The Mista board for a starter which we had before. 37.00 for barely anything on the board. Last time we ordered it we were so stuffed. Wanted to order some truffle fries but they said we couldn’t because we didn’t order the steak. Honestly after spending over 300.00 you would think they could have accommodated us. That being said they must have known we were annoyed and brought some Kudos
Hoping they take a look at their portion sizes and chef because it wasn’t as good as it was before and I can’t say we will
Go back. I don’t like to leave a bad review but I couldn’t recommend it after last night

Great little place for the cozy atmosphere, and great waiters. When we dined, the waiter did his job spectacularly. He seated us a little earlier than our reservation, went the extra mile to accommodate my 5 y/o daughter with the kid's menu, and the food was brought wicket fast for her. He was on the ball with some casual comic reliefs, and making sure we had a pleasant experience.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the food. I had the spaghettis and they were mediocre at best when compared to what they charge for the portions provided. I have had way better pasta for similar price with much larger portions (same quality, hand made in house, etc). The other members of the party seemed o be okay with the food, but just okay. The wine was also not the greatest for the price charged. Again, I've had far better Cab for the $80 they charged.
But again, the overall atmosphere and the waiter were very pleasant, and almost made up of the food.
