I ordered cupcakes for my engagement party! They were very good and my guests enjoyed them very much, but I was disappointed. The cupcakes were meant to have a filling and this was written on my order details but sometime between me placing the order and it being filled they got new owners that no longer offered the stuffed cupcakes. This wasn't communicated to me at all so I only found out when I was at my event when having a cupcake and found there was no filling!
Additionally, I got vanilla and lemon, so the cake itself was virtually identical. We wanted them to be decorated differently to show there were two flavours and this direction wasn't followed at all, so no one knew if they were getting vanilla or lemon until already eating. We brought these complaints to the shop afterwards but all we got was a verbal apology and a promise that something like this wouldn't happen again because the baker had been replaced and they offered us a $20(it might've been $40?) voucher when the order had been ~$400 which was kind but left me dissatisfied.
I want to repeat, the cupcakes were Excellent but they just weren't what we ordered. I think that once the new owners took over we should've been contacted about this change so we might've known what to expect or come up with a solution, but now I almost feel like I was taken advantage of because they didn't want to lose our business. I was hyping up these cupcakes to my guests so much about the filling and then I was a bit embarrassed.

Excellent food and excellent selection. One of my favorite places in Orangeville for pastries.
After asking the employee if the cream puff and pies were made with real whipping cream and being told "yes", I purchased a Coconut Cream Pie at a whopping $21, a Zeppol (cream puff) $5.85 and a square of Pineapple Upside Down Cake $6.00. I took the pie to a pot luck and discovered that it was made of some kind of synthetic cream, NOT fresh cream, and not one person said it was good. My husband and I shared the other 2 items. Cream puff - not real cream. Cake was ok. Would never buy from this bakery again.

Staff was nice, honestly expected more from the review feedbacks. 1st visit, can only review my cake purchase. $65 for a round black and white cake, cake itself good, icing sickly sweet and too much as same icing in the cake too. The icing felt like it was not homemade, we didnt enjoy, had to.scrape off exterior icing for cake to be palatable....I've been to many family bakeries and honestly this was the worst and pricing ridiculous. If I hadn't purchased the cake myself I would have thought mass produced cake you would buy at a supermarket and not like LaRocca quality which are actually good. Would NOT go again

Son Of A Chef Bakery is hands down the best bakery in town! I've heard nothing, but amazing things about this bakery and it did not disappoint. Everything from the atmosphere, to the pastries, sandwiches, and soups is amazing. I definitely recommend visiting this place!

This place is awesome. I forgot to order my daughter a cake for her birthday. I called at 9am and asked if they would be able to do a strawberry shortcake for the same day. Without hesitation they said yes. 4 hours later they called me and told me it was ready. I picked it up and it looked amazing. While i was there i noticed the cupcakes and decided to buy a bunch for the guys at work, every single flavor was delicous, they were super happy. All staff members were so friendly, I would highly recommend to anyone. I will be using them for every cake I need. Thanks again for all your help!!

Skip the grocery store and get your bread from here. Excellent quality and will take custom orders for cakes. Even gluten free! All the cakes we have ordered and the bread we have purchased have been great, and the staff always friendly and ready to help.

Tart and vegetarian sandwich were great. Price is on higher side but it does offer quality and taste.
Place was busy which is a good sign. The staff was helpful and attentive. Ordered several variety of tarts. Portuguese custard tarts were good. And the bean tart was one of the best I've ever had.
