Ordered 2 chicken souvlaki with salad and a pita and 3 piece halibut with chips. Halibut was good, everything else, not okay. The pita was rock hard (like we couldn’t even bite into it)the chicken pieces were dry. The two young girls working there were nice and I think they deserve a shoutout for their friendly service. Overall, it was not the best experience at this specific location. The quality of the food was disappointing, especially for a well recognized fish and chips restaurant chain. If you decide to try them out, hopefully my experience is different from yours though, maybe I went on an “off” day.

Came for lunch today, August 17 for the haddock special. What we received was soggy and tasteless and what I can only presume as being basa or a fish like it. Definitely not haddock. When I complained I was given a new mushy piece together with my (now cold) fries. The second star I gave was because the bathroom was nice and clean.

It was on Sunday June 16 2024 the young girl that worked there her name is Zarifa .She is the face of the restaurant Captain George's Fish & Chips .friendly smile very welcoming the food was amazing the preparation of the food was done with love and perfection.My church family was very pleased with the overall presentation of the service and taking care of us like family.Thank you Zarifa for serving us you are definitely an asset to the Captain George's Fish & Chip Family Yes I would recommend anyone to come over for a bite to eat you will certainly enjoy every morsel of food I guarantee it.

We did take out as we have for many many years. Very disappointing now as the fish was wafer thin and the fries seemed like they were cooked in old oil. Very expensive for what you’re getting since new ownership.

The food is great, however the service isn’t, I’ve ordered many times from here as I work next door to it however every time I order they never give me utensils (even if I specifically ask for some) I order a poutine and they expect me to eat it with my hands? I am also blocked from calling which I have noooo idea why since I have only called once to order food in advance!
Our go to dish and chip place in Courtice(although technically it’s on the Oshawa side of the border.) We’ve tried the other local places but our favourite continues to be Captain George’s
