Extremely disappointed after my first visit. First of all, the Chilli Chicken I ordered was unlike any traditional chilli chicken I've ever had before. The portion size was even more disappointing. I understand inflation and all, but the amount of chicken I got for $17 was just enough to feed one person. Rice and all sides were additional price.

Goat Dum biryani and Ghee Roast Biryani are two of my most favourite dishes from this place. Whenever I am in the area always try to make sure visit this place for any of the items. They sell out fast on the weekend’s before I can reach them which is always a good sign for a restaurant.I mostly do takeouts so can’t really say anything about the ambience but service has always been good and friendly.

Great food. It’s become the goto place for the family. Did not expect kids to love Biryani, they love it and ready to order anytime.Must try gobi manchurian and Gongura Biryani if you are a spice lover, trust me, they activate taste buds.
Had heard a lot about its Biryani. Finally tried.. Best Paneer Tikka Biryani i have had. The side Salan was super tasty too. Probably the best Biryani place in Durham.. Will definitely be a regular place for me to eat.Side Gulab Jamun was delicious as well.

So disappointed with recent visit. Initially I tried goat biriyanj tray , it was nice worthy ; so I again tried chicken Briyani tray via Uber pick up.The whole tray had literally 7 small cut partially burnt chicken pieces.!

I’ve ordered from Chowrasta before and the food was good… like I’d rate it 4/5. But this time I ordered the exact same food and it was not good at ALL. Very disappointed. The naan and roti were burnt. The shrimp was so soggy and under cooked. The mutton chukka was so mild and flavourless compared to when we ordered it before.

Ordered Goat Dum Biriyani, to go, a few weeks ago. It was good and decided to order again this past Sunday. Regret it. There were 5 pieces of "meat" in the order and all of them were huge pieces of bones with some meat sticking to it. Not happy at all.
Parking: At least 10 to 15 sots available.

This is what you get for Uttapam, the chef doesn't know what exactly is an uttapam and it's a South Indian restaurant! And we waited for 45 min to get a messed up uttapa. What an extremely bad experience. To make up for the messy Uttapam, they gave us a masala dosa, and the masala was stale and looks like the chef mixed stale potatoes with fresh ones. What a ridiculous experience.

if you have not visited Chowrasta, you have missed something, the food is so fabulous. Great service and great ambience. The food is just a balance of best spices and taste. My favourite place in Durham.

This place is a scam.I order butter chicken for my son very often. It always includes rice. I ordered off Uber-the butter chicken is $15.99 which is the same or more expensive than other places I order from. It arrives, no rice-I call and the man laughs at me and says no rice included if I want rice order it and it’s $5.99. Absolutely ridiculous. If it doesn’t include rice then it should be noted on the menu. In addition, the butter chicken I paid nearly $20 for with tax came with 5 small p cubes of chicken and the rest of the container was filled with curry sauce. We don’t mind spending money for quality food but this is horrible!

The food is great, and portions are very generous. The staff are very helpful and did their best to explain to myself and my friends what exactly we were ordering and its spice level. Lots of vegetarian options too.
Vegetarian options: A good 40% of the menu appears to be vegetarian

Hello Team.., we ordered for chicken 65 biriyani (signature recipe)14.99$ on friday 29th sep around 9.15pm to 9.30pm . It was take away order. I was very much surprised to see that chicken 65 biriyani the pieces tasted like normally cooked chicken instead of chicken 65. On the top it , the chicken pieces were mixed with extremely sour curd as the gravy for the biriyani. I understand that chowrastra is based on Andhra cusinie but I dont understand how chicken 65 biriyani becomes to the sour biriyani I had tasted ever in my lifetime.Even the similar situation happed to me when i ordered for kondaveedu chicken, very sour taste. Our Indian cusinies stands out for the Authentic taste but here in chowrastra i experienced worst. It better to order a pizza then eating out in your restaurant. EXPERIENCED WORST FOR THE SECOND TIME.

Have been to this place for last 6 months. Awesome food most times. Tried Chinese, gr8! South Indian, g8! Biryani is awesome. Dosa Chicken 65 is ultimate -must try. Mutton is great -must try. Tried tandoori chicken once which was not that good. Staff is passionate and ever smiling, happy to help. Overall a nice place for family.
