Absolute rip off, this is the first time I've heard of a Chinese food place where 2 item combo includes the rice or noodles as an item. See picture- that's what $38.51 will get you at this place. The food didn't even taste good

An employee in the kitchen, who briefly came out to the register while I was halfway through my meal, was not wearing a mask and could not speak two words before breaking into a horrible-sounding wet cough. I have serious health concerns about a place that would make such an employee work in a kitchen while so obviously sick.
Incidentally, I've been eating here for years and the food has been going downhill recently.

Best Chinese food in Durham and has been for decades. Their food is always fresh, very flavourful and portions are huge. Staff is incredibly friendly. Great location with tons of parking. Fast service and amazing food. ❤️

Absolutely disgusting.the chicken wings were rotten, and the rice was three days old or more. The black pepper beef wasn't seasoned and full of gristle. Even the fortune cookies were stale. Save your money, the food there is garbage.

Horrible customer service today. I always get my food from here but my son was with me and wanted some so we were going to share. I asked for a separate container for his chicken balls because he wouldn’t eat them if they touched my spicy food. They wanted to charge me $7 for the extra container. I wasn’t asking for any extra food. Just the container and they refused to budge on this extreme price. So we walked out.

Same quantity as any other Chinese restaurant, less on the menu as most and prices are massively inflated. I payed $6 for 2 wings. Got a side of noodles and black pepper steak for $18. Super crazy prices.

Golden Gate Eatery is a complete letdown. Prices are outrageously high for what you get. I ordered the two-item combo and was shocked at how tiny the portion was — it looked more like a snack than a meal. And rice counts as one of the two items? That’s just insulting.
This place doesn’t even come close to a proper Chinese take out in Toronto or Scarborough. The quality, quantity, and value are nowhere near the standard. It honestly feels like a bad imitation. Don’t waste your time or money here.
Not worth it ! For the price the food is mostly dough barely any chicken or meat. Spent almost $31.00 for a 4 combo item. I won't be back better to spend your money at the Chinese place at the mall. Very disappointed that I wasted my money here for food that had barely any chicken in it.

The sauce was good but the food was not great and we ended up throwing out most of our meals (we each got a 4 side combo). There was literally no chicken in any of the sesame or sweet and sour chicken and the chicken balls were all batter with a tiny peice of hard dried out chicken the size of a penny. The egg roll was over cooked and hard as a rock including the inside which the veggies were not cooked as they were raw and crunchy. Very unhappy to have taken a second trip to the area in one day so we could try this restaurant and wasted almost $50. Not to mention the store was extrwmely loud with just me and my daughter and the 2 ladies working the front of the store who kept yelling and running in and out the front door.

Threw the pork spare ribs in the garbage. I think they deep fried the bones. No meat and crunchy? Horrible The rest was just bland.
