Came in today for lunch with my dad for the fish and chips for the buy one get one free special(today only because it’s national fish day) which is such an awesome deal, the restaurant was packed because it was lunch hour but we got a table ☺️ service was excellent and the staff were very nice and really polite! The waitress wiped the table off for us when we sat down which was very nice! The fish was so tasty and you get a big piece which is a bonus, the fries were delicious...
This review is for the Bloor Street W. location in Oshawa. Service was good and fairly quick. The dinner size portion of halibut $21 + tax was enough for a hungry person. The batter was thin and crisp and cooked perfectly. The fries, however were undercooked and not crisp. The coleslaw could have used some vinegar. It was just watery cabbage.
It's not bad. But my thoughts this. To really stand out in the fish and chips market you have an opportunity to elevate your dish to be memorable . Things like home made coleslaw and house made tatar sauce. I don't know how to say it. There's no tart in the tartar sauce. Very flat or bland. The fish and chips themselves are what I. expected.
