We recently had an 85th birthday party for my mother in law at Harpos. The food was amazing. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The room is beautiful. The staff was amazing. They were so friendly and my mother in laws birthday was a wonderful event. Thank you so much Harpos !! We will be back !

This was a birthday dinner for my daughter. Overall Harpos was decent. There was 7 people and all but myself seemed to enjoy the meal. My issue is trying to make a reservation. The difficulty I had in trying to make a reservation could have contributed to me not enjoying my meal. On line you can book for 2 people, 4 or 6. No more than 6 people. Therefore I emailed where it says to contact them and I did not receive a reply. A day or two later I phoned during open hours, left a voice mail message as to the reservation I wanted to make for 7 people and I also wanted to know if we could bring a birthday cake again no reply. A day or two after not receiving a reply my daughter the birthday girl had to drive over to make the reservation which was unfortunate. My daughter informed the person she spoke to the difficulty I was having trying to make a reservation. They made excuses and were putting the blame on me that I had the incorrect email and phone number. They couldn’t have cared less. After I paid for the dinner on our way out I asked to speak to the manager. I informed the manager of the difficulty I had trying to make a reservation and she also didn’t care. I informed the manager if it had been my choice I would have take my business elsewhere. But, my daughter really wanted to go to Harpos. All the waiters were excellent. The waitress we had was fabulous. The service was excellent, staff were pleasant and they work very hard. Making a reservation should not be difficult. I will not being returning to Harpos. Disappointed.

I haven't been in a while and decided I'd like to go for my birthday. We had an early reservation. The interior has been renovated since the last time we were there and it looked quite nice. We had a server who seemed to do just the bare minimum required. No pleasantries. And it wasn't like it was the end of the night, we were there right when they opened. He did ask if we were celebrating anything and we told him it was my birthday. My husbands prime rib was excellent (I had a taste of it) but my salmon was very bland. When dinner was finished, we weren't asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, he just brought out a very small piece of carrot cake on a plate with a candle in it and 2 forks. We would have loved a coffee or tea with dessert but at that point were just done with the whole experience.

Beautifully appointed inside with adequate spacing between parties for privacy. I found the Caesar salad overly salty but I wasn’t asked how it was- even tho it was half full, the waiter just asked if I was done with it, not how it was, so I told him. We then ordered the prime rib, as I had read positive reviews on it, bit it was a very thick slice, full of not just fat, which I know adds flavour, but a lot of gristle- making it hard to cut and chew. I WAS asked how that was and said I wasn’t happy with it. They did replace it with a filet mignon, which was definitely more tender. We were celebrating a recent engagement and they brought a complementary slice of cake with ’congratulations’ written on the plate in chocolate- very nice. Overall, I’m not sure I’ll go back.

A group of us went on New Years Eve, 8:00 pm dinner. It took forever to place orders for drinks. Had to ask for more bread several times. Our food order was taken around 9:15 and dinners came out around 10:00 pm. Two of our guests had to be somewhere else and had to leave before they got dinner. To so call apologize, they brought a plate of 6 slices of desserts, we asked if another tray was coming since there were ten of us. We were told yes, then later no and after another long wait they arrived with a plate of 6 more slices. Thinking this really isn't much of a thank you for all we'd been through. We had been there last year on New Year's and had a great time. I certainly can't say that this year. Right now I honestly wouldn't think of going back again. Terrible time and service!
I went to Harpo’s for dinner with my sisters and had an amazing time. The atmosphere as well as the staff were lovely. The food was delicious and a large variety of dessert options which we enjoyed. Will definitely be back xo

The service and food at Harpos is always exceptional. From the complimentary bread to the amazing Caesar salad to any of the entrees, I am always impressed. I would have to say it is my favourite restaurant in Durham Region.
The Caesar salad dressing is truly the best I have ever had, even compared to fine dining restaurants in Toronto and Las Vegas.
