We’ve been regular customers here for 40 years and have always found the dishes to be solid compared to the other local Chinese takeouts. Never disappointed here!

I have lived in oshawa my whole life. I've had Chinese food from about 10 different places here over the years. Mayflower is by far the best I have ever had. It was suggested to my boyfriend by a co worker. First time for both of us.. We had the combo plate #1 and a beef lo mein just to try incase it was bad. It was amazing. Packed with flavor and they do not skimp on the beef in the lomein or chicken in the rice. They are known for thier egg rolls and it did not disappoint. Over all 10/10 experience and taste. Super friendly cashier and was ready in 10 minutes. This will be our go to Chinese spot from now on 😀 Only downfall is they need more combo plate options.
Got it twice so far, really good Chinese food. I love the chicken Lo Mein- very tasty and it always so hot.The egg rolls are very good- very big compared to other Chinese restaurants. Staff are nice, clean restaurant which is good also. They always give a lot of plum, soy etc. Only downside about this restaurant is that its cash only and its pretty expensive but worth it :) I would rate this restaurant a 10/10 no question about it. LOVE!!!!!!
Been a loyal customer since the late seventies, always been a go to spot. Recently I’ve noticed they have changed the flavour of the chicken balls, no flavor at all. The rice is bland too. Spent 100 bucks too.
Classic, vintage Chinese take out. Great quality and flavour
Ordered dinner tonight for my family and picked up from the restaurant. All I can say is that every single dish was made with care and experience. Everything was delicious, and the store staff are friendly. Highly recommended.
Restaurantji Recommends
We spent $87 worth of food today and we couldn't eat half of it because it was way too salty. And I don't think they have changed their oil in quite a long time. I would not recommend this place. We called to get at least half of our money back and the woman hung up on me. Never will order from them again 🤢🤢🤢🤢
I wouldn't recommend ordering Chinese food over the new year holiday festivities.
The food seems extremely rushed and I actually recooked most of it the next day with Asian spices to make it more flavorful and authentic.
I'm not going to try and say bad things and it was very busy, however in my opinion, it was not worth it. I don't think this is specific to the Mayflower, because I tried ordering Chinese food from various restaurants and the demand at the time for New year's was extremely high. It may or may not be a contributing factor but I wasn't really thrilled with the product. The only reason I give it three stars out of five is it because I was able to reuse some of their foods and remake it. That's not an absolute loss...
P.s. the fortune cookies didn't make much sense either.... It told me to buy more Chinese food to get more cookies..........
Just spent $61 for absolute garbage. Egg rolls were just full of grease bag had grease in it and I use to go here all the time for egg rolls. Chicken balls weren't cooked gooey in the middle, fried rice was mush and the beef an broccoli couldn't even eat the broccoli cause again just full of grease. Will be a very long time before I go back if I even do go back. Do better for that price. Everything went in the garbage
I saw the reviews and decided to give them a chance, i was pleasantly surprised. Got the special plate with chicken balls, chicken chow mein and fried rice, it was $10 which is a very good price in todays economy. Unfortunately we got chop suey instead but still found it very tasty. Service was good, and food preparation was quick also. If we had gotten the correct item it would’ve been a 5 star from me.

This place has gone down hill , haven't been in years .
The only thing that was good out of thr food was the egg rolls , Big !!! And there chicken balls.
We order the dinner for 4 , beef and mixed veggies was all celery and onions and some yucky sauce , had a funky taste .
I ll stick to the new Hong Kong in whitby , worth the drive !!!!
Save your money .
