I cannot recommend this place enough. I have been going here consistently for the last 4 years and every time I come, the quality of food, fast service, and amazing servers make the experience worth while. Tonight was the first night in 4 years that I ever had a hiccup with my food. I always get the wings and for some reason 1 of the pieces I bit into looked a bit off than usual. Personally for me it wasnt a big deal and I would have just put it to the side, but our server Toni came right at that moment to ask how our food was and she saw me inspecting that piece. My partner explained that it wasnt a problem at all and that we just thought it may have been part of the bone etc. She apologized and took the piece away and ofcourse not expecting anything at all. As all the other wings and food that came was superb as usual. A few minutes later she brought a container of wings and said the kitchen insisted on taking it. They 100% did not need to do that but that just made us feel so well taken care of on top of our already great service. Just a special shoutout to Toni who we usually have. She is on top of everything, and does an exceptional job at keeping up with what we need before we have to ask. She is a really sweet and efficient server! We will be back soon

Management should take a look at the parking lot, most people arrived in cars not skate boards so what's with the background music? Spoiled the whole experience

We stopped in Oshawa for dinner after being delayed by a nearby accident and chose Portly Piper Pub based on its 3,000+ reviews and 4.3-star rating. Parking seemed limited at first, but there’s more available in the back. Just a tip: be careful not to miss the entrance, since exiting is a one-way street and re-entering can be tricky.

We arrived around 6:45 pm and saw a small line with two groups ahead, but the place is much bigger than it looks from the outside and we were seated quickly in a comfortable booth for four. The pub was clean, and I was especially surprised at how spacious and tidy the washrooms were—not what I usually expect from a pub, which tend to feel older and worn.

The menu is huge, and TVs are everywhere—even in our booth. Between us, we tried a good range of dishes:
1. Caprese Salad with Steak – nicely balanced with pesto, though the steak was a little dry.
2. Fish and Chips – incredible portion for $18! Crispy, perfectly cooked fish with fries, coleslaw, and even a Caesar salad. The fries were well-seasoned (no ketchup needed), coleslaw was enjoyable despite me usually not liking it, and the Caesar was delicious.
3. Mexican Salad – flavorful, fresh, and generous in portion.
4. Tuesday Wing Special – wings were $0.90 each, so I ordered 15 with a Coke Zero. The garlic Parmesan was disappointing—dry and lacking flavor—but the Buffalo ranch wings were tender and spot-on.

Service was friendly, though our waitress could have been more proactive with drink and water refills.

Overall, I was impressed. Clean space, huge portions, good value, and a welcoming pub atmosphere. Definitely a solid stop if you’re in the area.

I eat there some weekends. Good fries is a big part of many meals. Just like a good fresh bread plays a big role in a sandwitch.
Portly french fries definitely need improved.
Fries at Costco food counter are much better than Portly piper fries.

Staff is friendly. The food is good. My favorite is the beets, spinach and goat cheese salad.

My family really enjoyed it here. They enjoyed the food and the big selection. The restaurant feels new and nice. It was a bit crowded for my liking. It was absolutely packed actually, but overall we enjoyed it and would go back
