Will start by saying that my husband and I are not vegan, but we visited portobello road for their tasting menu. The food was presented nicely and you could tell the chef was very talented. Most of the food wasn’t to my taste, but if you were vegan I’m sure you’d love it. The breads (that they mill themselves), were all fantastic!
My husband and I really didn’t love the atmosphere inside the restaurant. The bright lights from the kitchen take away from the dim ambiance in the front of the house. There was obscure music playing in the kitchen but not in the dining room. Music or a tv or art to look at would have been good! Just anything to set the mood! For the price you’re paying for the tasting menu, you expect top notch service and atmosphere.
The service was good, both ladies were friendly and pleasant.
We didn’t realize this was a “dry” establishment, maybe I missed that somewhere, so my bad! But if we had of known that, we almost certainly wouldn’t have signed up for a 2 hour tasting experience without the option to have a glass of wine or something.
One final note, again going back to atmosphere. There was no sign out front that said “portobello road” we had never been before and had to basically guess that we were going into the right place. Also the bathroom situation is a little awkward, basically having to walk through the kitchen to get there.
Overall, we would not return for this price, but if you are vegan (or sober) I am sure you would have a different experience! I only decided to write a review because I thought the points about the atmosphere issues were worth sharing.

Wow, our tasting menu experience was exceptional!! I personally am not vegan (or vegetarian), but my friend that I brought with me is. This was her first time having a tasting menu and she was blown away by it. The food was so fantastic, service was absolutely wonderful. Really appreciate that they try to source most of their food and ingredients locally to help support other local businesses and farms, as well using in season produce. Everything was delicious, excellent value for your money, and I cannot wait to return!!
Vegetarian options: Entire menu is vegan, so vegetarians are covered!

We bought tickets for the 6-course tasting menu and had our meal after the restaurant was only open a week or so. They create the menu based on what can be sourced locally, so it is continually changing.
The food was delicious. The portions were appropriate for this many courses (except way too much pizza lol). We did take most of the pizza home. We were incredibly impressed by the creativity of the chef. It truly is fine vegan dining.
When the courses came out, the servers explained the dishes and depending which server you had, would also have information about the creation of the dish and the farmers who provided the produce. They even mill their own flour
The restaurant was quite small which made it cozy and comfortable. It wasn't licensed at the time (not sure if there is a plan to), so if you are expecting wine or beer with your meal, that's not available. They did have a number of non-alcoholic drinks to try.

I had the good fortune to win one of their 6 course tasting experiences and what a great experience it was !! I am neither vegan nor vegetarian and I was blown away by the food. Everything was so fresh tasting and creatively prepared and presented. Lindsay and staff took the time to explain each of Alex’s creations from ingredient source to table. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Where else can you get a “pre-dessert”? I highly recommend dining here and I will definitely be back.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to enjoy the 6 course tasting menu, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The dishes were so fresh, flavourful and the presentation was second to none. With each dish the owner explained the story behind the creation along with how the ingredients were locally sourced. We loved the atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. We will definitely be going back and bring our friends along with us. Thank you to the chef and staff for an amazing meal and a wonderful evening.

I went here with my family for a pre- reserved vegan and gluten free dinner. The chefs here are truly talented. The food was phenomenal. Owners are friendly, gracious and very talented. This was a multi course meal that was better than 4-5 star restaurants in Niagara. Flavour profiles, technique and quality of ingredients are outstanding. Book in advance, you are in for a real treat. Everything I ate was amazing, fresh and soooo delicious!

EDIT 2: I cannot say enough good things about this place! They've created such a beautiful restaurant and the new dishes are just as amazing. Do yourself a favour and try their pasta! -- Freakin' fantastic!! Everytime I've ordered and gone to their shop has been an amazing experience, they're so kind and the food is delicious! I tried the peanut stew and muffins and my god they were both amazing. Pizzas are phenomenal too?
